Speaking of pain, I woke up this morning with blinding pain in my right eye. It was like someone was holding an icepick to my eyeball, just horrible. I went to the eye doctor and he discovered that an ingrown eyelash had grown backwards and was scraping my eye. A freaking EYELASH, but man, I could have sworn it was razorblade. So now I'm wearing this huge puffy eyepatch over my eye for a couple of days to let it heal. My left eye is getting very blurry and tired from doing all the work, too. Good luck with the back pain, though, everyone. I've heard that meditation and other mind-over-matter methods can dramatically help, not by making the pain go away but by helping you simply cope with it and be negatively affected by it. I know it sounds crazy and unhelpful, but some people swear by it.
Sounds like some people have had some rough times with chiropractors. You say you have one already, but I hope others won't be scared away. I guess there are good ones and bad ones. Good ones do the X-ray workup and all that stuff. Mine kept me from having surgery. I had been down three weeks and was scheduled to have back surgery that I didn't really want. I thought that chiropractic probably couldn't hurt at that point, so I got a recommendation and went 4 days in a row. I got immediate but gradual results, canceled my surgery, and get by with 6-8 visits per year twenty years later. My worst problem with it ever was exacerbated by a Physical Therapist who I went to see on directive from the Orthopaedic Surgeon. This PT got me doing the newest kind of thinking about exercise-- which was, naturally, contrary to previously held concepts. It made me so much worse. Bad advice/treatment can come from any direction, I guess.
Back injuries would suck. I don't know how serious yours is, but maybe just trying to stretch your hip flexors would relieve some lower back tension.
Dude, that SUCKS. I hurt my back playing basketball once, and I couldn't move for a week. One of the worst pains this side of being racked. Good luck, dude!
Well as you can tell from my post late last night I was feeling better. Unfortunately, the medication wore off around 4:00 AM. I woke up and it felt like someone had a knife and kept jabbing it into my back. I'm a little bit looser today though . I probably strained or sprained something in there. Out of all the injuries that I've had(shoulder, neck, ankles, and feet), this has to be the most painful by far. I have a lot more respect for the professional athletes that play through this type of pain. Ofcourse, if someone gave me a multimillion dollar contract, I'd be bustin my butt too.
My grandmother offered it to me.. but its not a muscle relaxer or pain killer.. its for arthritis relief.. thx though
Go to a RECOMMEND chiropracter. There are a bunch a quacks, but there are a few good ones that can work wonders even if you have to drive a ways. Is John Weed still in business? He's a good one.
Clebrex is like aspirin. It's hyped by the drug companies to be more since they get a huge profit on it but it's only real breakthrough is that it is absorbed into the body differently so that it is less irritating to the stomach. This trait is especially valuable in the large dosages and long term use patterns for patients treating chronic pain (athritis). I don't mean to denegrate aspirin though. It's as close to a miracle drug as man has ever invented. Vicodin, Percoset, Loratab, all the prescription pain relievers you can buy on the internet are mostly aspirin, tylenol or ibuprofren with just enough codiene to be a little relaxing. As long as your stomach can stand it, just take 800 mg (4) ibuprofren. You should get as much relief as with the prescription drugs and it will only cost you about $4.99 for two weeks of treatment.
