I think a lot of those guys are great secondary targets should we acquire Dwight...but if we don't, we are wasting our time with most of those guys, short of maybe Bynum (who's contract expires after next year) and Hibbert (who has a grudge against the Rockets for telling him he'd go to the d-league if they picked him). None of those other guys would be foundation pieces that could be built around -- there are some very good second options though.

Without Dwight, we'd be better off seeing what we can get in the draft (assuming we get in the top 10) and build around that. With Dwight, you can bet Morey is going to go hard after a lot of guys like those you listed to try to land one of them, including Deron and Rudy Gay.

I know Dwight is a bonafide star but giving up so much to get him does not make the most sense for us long-term. Sure it saves Morey's job for a few more years but once Dwight leaves we will be screwed.

So I'd rather get a few really good players with the "assets" we have than to give up everything for Dwight.

I think that Danny Ferry and Danny Ainge would be willing to swing a deal for Rondo/Smith if we were willing to give up as much as we are believed to be giving up for Dwight.

Still not that bad of a consolation prize, as long as we don't overpay.

Didn't know where to put this. Didn't want to start another thread.

Bucks interested in acquiring Dalembert from Rockets.

Maybe we can get a hold of their 12th pick.

I'd take that in a heartbeat. We'd be loaded up with ammo.

I'd like to see us acquire Joakim Noah, and draft both Andre Drummond, and Will Barton. Drummond's not ready for the big show yet, but you almost have to select him because of his potential (athleticism, defense, size, youth). Noah's a great substitute until Drummond's ready to contribute in a few years. Will Barton does everything well and would be a very good addition at the 2. I don't understand why he's not rated much higher. We should be able to pick him up with the 18th pick.

We actually have enough pieces to make this happen. It's an exciting time to be a Rocket fan!
