Stromile Swift was athletiec and a shot blocker, but he was a stiff. I don't see how Sean Williams worth taking a chance on than Joey Dorsey. Your concern about Dorsey is his foul rate. Sean Williams averaged 7.6 fouls per 48 minutes last season.
hey amigo whats up dawg? Is this really you? If not isnt that kind of wierd to use sombody else's name?
No, I am not the real Amigo... I don't get what's wrong with using one of the Rockets player's name... there are so many TMac/Yao derived names out there.
Sean Williams is a better shotblocker than Swift was.He also has had only 1 year under his belt. Williams is a high energy player unlike Stro despite being less talented than him.I also said I'm not advocating to trade for him,but he is no stiff. Dorsey is a strongly built 5 with long arms. I said we need a taller 5.I didn't say Sean Williams was a 5.
Respect that playa, showing some love to number 7, thorpe & Herrera scola & Landry which combo is better now that is a thread. sombody start it cause i dont know how?
sean might average 7.6 fouls per 48 min but hes not gonna play 48 min. imo sean williams is nothin compared to stromile swift mainly because we dont hav to giv up alot to get sean williams. hes low risk high reward n with his potential can be a great backup or even a starting pf. he would fix our back up C problems for years.
I think Sean Williams would be a huge addition at the backup center/pf spots. I prefer him to Deke. I love what Deke's done for the team, but he's too old and slow.
lol I think everybody said hes too old the past 3 years.. he isnt getting any faster but this is a guy whos proven he can get us 3 blocks a game a nd give us a good 10-13 minutes.. why not pick up a FUTURE HOF for a cheap price seeing hes proven
From what I've seen of Sean Williams I wouldn't mind him being a back up at the 5, moves pretty well, blocks shots. He is a bit all over the place as far as his stats go game from game, but he was a rookie. That being said I don't know much about him as a person
ur right i didnt learn a thing ... but i did see that he is more versitle than an average big man... n he was a rookie if he works hard then he can only get better.
Now that's the real truth about this thread...that I am reviving. But on ESPN trade machine, they have Fransico Elson's contract at only $1,700,000. Did they really get to sign him for that cheap? If so, why didn't the Rockets pursue him as a back up center? If they did pursue him, why didn't they think that he was worth at least that amount? I can't imagine him not wanting to play on this team behind Yao for the same amount.
Dorsey>>>>>>willams on defense. it's not even close. dorsey was the best defensive player in all of the college system.
Battier for Wilcox? Wilcox can play and he can guard the post and he is expiring. I believe Head Hayes Dorsey (maybe) Picks We have Scola and Alston with 1 year left i think it's important to focus on needs you know expiring contracts and guys with 1 year left so we can ballance out the budget without letting guys slip away down the road. Battier for Wilcox OKC might do that you never know. Then resign Landry and Mutombo and we are set. Wilcox is not young, but he is not old either. He put up 14 and 7 and can D up Center or PF.
Good points! But you forgot bobby jackson, who played an important role in the late part of last season. An experienced backup PG is needed.
i think steve has more than enough experience i dont see why ppl count him out... i think he can play a valuable roll on this team.
Of course, we hope steve could stay healthy in the coming season. But, this is unpredictable. Besides, Brooks is still inexperienced. If steve is healthy, there will be no problem in PG.
