Yeah, I'm surprised Reggie is so high and Clyde is so low. I'd put Clyde in the top 30 and Reggie somewhere in the 30's.
Steph at 32, but "if he remains healthy for the 2018 postseason, (he) will springboard into the low 20s". 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Wilt Chamberlain 10. Magic Johnson 11. Larry Bird 12. Oscar Robertson 13. Karl Malone 14. Kobe Bryant 15. David Robinson 16. Julius Erving 17. Jerry West 18. Dirk Nowitzki 19. Steve Nash 20. Charles Barkley 21. Chris Paul 22. Dwyane Wade 23. Scottie Pippen 24. Moses Malone 25. John Stockton 26. Kevin Durant 27. Patrick Ewing 28. Rick Barry 29. Reggie Miller 30. Bob Pettit 31. John Havlicek 32. Stephen Curry 33. Walt Frazier 34. Jason Kidd 35. Paul Pierce 36. Artis Gilmore 37. Elgin Baylor 38. Kevin McHale 39. Clyde Drexler 40. Ray Allen
Hard for me to think of Ewing as a top 30 player and Robinson top 15 considering how much Hakeem ate their lunches. Heh.
I started that discussion. And i still would not rate Miller this high. To me he is not a superstar. I do not believe he was ever a top 5 player in the nba. Not in Any year
Jeremy Lin, Matt Maloney, Allen Leavell, Toney Douglass, Carl Herrerra, Kelvin Cato, Royce White, and Sam Dekkar.
Gotta be Hakeem, Jordan, Jabbar, Shaq, Russell, Duncan, Lebron and Garnett in some order. 7 of the top 10 will be bigs. These have been a treat to read.
And thanks for posting THIS, Rashmon, because you saved me from spending an entire day on that sight when I have a busy schedule to begin with. Thanks to you, I'm postponing taking my first look until I can afford the time.
Podcast discussing his approach for constructing the top 40 list. A really fun listen if you’re enjoying this series: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/duncdo...the-most-over-and-underrated-all-time-players
Would be interested to see what this list would look like if he only considered 5-year peaks. Curry possibly near the top of the list in that case, given his write up on him.
Only way Garnett is top 10 in any respectable list if that list takes into account trying to start fights with smaller players or back pedalling once you hit another player. Guy is overrated af
Damn. I don't know about all that. He was so god, damn, disgustingly good in Minnesota. He kept running into Kobe/Shaq, but holy crap that guy could do everything on both ends. In his prime, I'll put him up there with any big man outside of Hakeem Olajuwon.
No way. Tim Duncan has him beat at most things. I just watched a clip that came out on my youtube list of Garnett and McDyess getting into it. Dude pushes Dyess and runs backwards through a few different players. He was the original Carmelo.
I'd like to see Duncan play guard, or see the floor, or defend at the level KG did in his prime. KG could arguably guard 1-5 better than anyone, ever. Aside from that, TOTALLY different players.
