Hakeem at 14 Kobe at 26 Garnett at 8 If I see Kobe higher than Hakeem than this list belongs in the garbage
You guys seriously think Garnett is ahead of Hakeem? Hakeem scored more points, blocked more shots, took more steals, grabbed more offensive rebounds, had a higher PER, higher eFG%, won more championships, selected to more All-NBA than Garnett. The only significant categories Garnett is better than Hakeem is defensive rebounding and WS. If you look at the playoffs numbers, it's not even close.
Before Boston, the only memories I have of KG is him shrinking in the playoffs and getting punk by former teammate Anthony Peeler.
Hakeem is way better than KG, it's not even close. Personally, I think Dirk is better than KG, although just slightly. KG's career high points in a playoff game is only 35. He is an all around and very versatile player, but in the end basketball is the game of scoring points. KG can't destroy the defense like other all time greats does, so his impacts shrink in games with higher intensity. Duncan and Hakeem is a fair comparison, I think prime Hakeem is a little better than prime Duncan, but Duncan's career is longer.
Looks like Hakeem is top 8. Kobe at 14. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Wilt Chamberlain 10. Magic Johnson 11. Larry Bird 12. Oscar Robertson 13. Karl Malone 14. Kobe Bryant 15. David Robinson 16. Julius Erving 17. Jerry West 18. Dirk Nowitzki 19. Steve Nash 20. Charles Barkley 21. Chris Paul 22. Dwyane Wade 23. Scottie Pippen 24. Moses Malone 25. John Stockton 26. 27. Patrick Ewing 28. Rick Barry 29. Reggie Miller 30. Bob Pettit 31-40.
I’m not seeing Kobe listed yet. http://www.backpicks.com/2017/12/11/the-backpicks-goat-the-40-best-careers-in-nba-history/
For some reason he doesn't update the list immediately after posting a new player's ranking. Kobe on the main page: http://www.backpicks.com/
I guess you can consider either one since both have impressive stats. Either way, it'll be a shocker if either one is ranked higher than Hakeem
I don't think either one will be higher than Hakeem. I actually think both will be ranked higher than Garnett. Either one of Curry and Durant will be at 26, the other one at 8. Garnett out of top 30. That, or Curry out because of the shortness of his career so far.
Yep. I was getting at that with asking why Curry over Durant. Curry's peak is way too short so far and he's already entering his 30s in the next few weeks. I could easily see KD top 8 over KG, but ill go with the finished career of KG in the top 8 and KD at 26.
I still can't see how Garnett can be in the top 8, higher than Magic and Bird. The only time his team reached the WCF was mostly due to Cassell and Spreewell.
Yeesh...that's true. Didn't think about that. Neither KD or KG should be ahead of Bird or Magic. Is there someone were forgetting? An old school guy that would place KD or KG at 26 and the other and Curry etc in the 30s-40s? MJ Shaq Russell Hakeem Kareem LeBron Duncan Those are clearly top 7 left right? There's no way they'd place Hakeem 26 or further right? No freaking way. So that leaves a mystery player that might still be playing ahead of Wilt, Magic, Bird, Kobe etc...that just doesn't sound right at all unless it's someone like Mikan.
I think it will be Garnett. Arguably a top 3 defensive player of all time. Big time impact according to adjusted +/- in much of his prime years, as I recall. And one of only 8 players with 10 seasons having a VORP > 5: RkPlayerFromToTmLgCount1LeBron James20052018TOTNBA142Karl Malone19892001UTANBA123Michael Jordan19851998CHINBA114Charles Barkley19861996TOTNBA105Larry Bird19801990BOSNBA106Kevin Garnett19982008TOTNBA107Magic Johnson19801991LALNBA108Chris Paul20062017TOTNBA109Kareem Abdul-Jabbar19741981TOTNBA810David Robinson19901998SASNBA8 Provided by Basketball-Reference.com: View Original Table Generated 3/1/2018.
Yeah, but should he be put above Bird and Magic though? His offense is just not good enough and he has not won enough titles like Russell did.
