Audrey Tatou is amazing. Speaking of French actresses, Judith Godreche used to be gorgeous 15 years ago. Stills from the movie Ridicule.

You are right, I am thinking Cafe Layal on Richmond, my bad! Cafe Lili is absolute crap on the food front though, been there before and it was the worst Lebanese food I have ever had.

Of course, if you happen to own it or your family does, then I take back everything I just said about it

Family is not in the restaurant business... I like the hummus and tabbouleh, and it is right down the street from my office. So what is your fav lebanese restaurant?

Never tried the hummus or tabbouleh there, but I will take your advice should I ever go back again. I guess I am not a big fan of the Lebanese places around town, but Cafe Byblos or Fadi's are probably the two best ones in terms of quality. If I am in the mood for some good kabab, however, I would definitely hit a Persian joint.

You try any other good places around town? I will give you a free restaurant tip: avoid Mary'z on Richmond at all costs!!!

But they are in business, right? All Lebanese-American families own or operate their own businesses, Lebanese business savvy is legendary :)

Darband is not very good, if you want good Persian I would strongly recommend Kasra, and to a lesser degree Garson. The meats there are far superior to anything you can get at any Lebanese or Middle Eastern restaurant in Houston. Of course, it depends on what you are looking for. Do you eat meat or are you strictly a vegetarian?

As for Persian guys, they are a bunch of playas dude, what are you even doing messing around with them? Come on, you are Arab, so you should know that the classy guys tend to be Lebanese, Syrians and Egyptians. The rest of the Arabs, especially the Khaleejis, Palestinians or Pali-Jordanians, are all douchebags!

Weed 'em out, girl, weed 'em out! ;)

Kasra is great Ill agree with you there...

As far as persian guys being a bunch of playas come on man. That may be true for a minority of them in Houston but not all of us persians are that way.

I'll have to check out Kasra... and I hope you're not a player/crappy person, but I know one in particular that is, but he is not all persian, he is mexican/persian ... maybe it's a bad combination?

Hehe well admittedly I am generalizing here, but I have had a lot of Persian guy friends over the years (more than Arabs even) and the label 'playa' applies to most of them, they are notorious for macking, mostly on non-Persian girls though. One thing they all agreed on was that Persian girls were a bunch of over-hyped, pretentious daddy's girls with a tendency for gold-digging and really really expensive tastes. The Persian guys I knew mostly dated outside of their own group, and only the well-to-do ones seemed to gravitate to dating within their own ethnic group (probably because those girls would not give them the time of day otherwise). Of course these are nothing more than my personal observations, but generally speaking the guys were MUCH nicer and more sociable than the girls. Persian girls are rough, man, I kinda feel bad for you guys hehe!

Lebanese/Syrian girls, on the other hand, they are keepers :p
