You don't believe that Francis has as high bball IQ as Oscar and Magic do you?

Plus I don't think this is a bashing thread. I don't think the reason people rank Francis that low is because he just has a bad game.

I never said he had the b-ball IQ of those guys, I said he was putting up similar numbers. I don't know where his b-ball IQ stands, but it can't be too low since he is one of the best players in the NBA. But I guess he does it on pure athleticism. It has nothing to do with work ethic, practice, training, seeking the advice of hall of famers, or god given talent. It's because of athleticism that Darius Miles, Eddie Robinson, Darvin Ham, Stromile Swift, Gerald Wallace, etc are considered the best players in the NBA today.

I don't think this is anybody bashing thread, just an honest discussion of which Rockets player has the most intelligence.
I wonder if the "Yao only fans" would b**** if some one put him near last in the "which Rockets player is the most athletic or the most aggressive thread."

Big O and Magic are light year ahead of Steve in the cerebral region. They know how to read the situation in the game and adjust accordingly, they are strategic players (Yao is that type of a player if someone didn't know yet), and most importantly they know how to get the most out of their big men. That's why they are HOF.

If the fossil John Stockon(future HOF) who is no way compare to Steve in term of athletic ability and yet he can easily create the most favorable position for his teammates to score. (the Ostertag dunk on Yao, Harpring lay up after lay up, Cheaney wide-open shot after wide-open shot, these are not the best players on his team and the little "Shortie"Johnny make them all look good.)

With all the talent and athletic ability that Steve has in the world, it shouldn't be hard for Steve to do what Stockton does, so what is the "don't you ever bash my almighty Stevie Franchise's" problem? Some people just can't accept the truth when the short coming of their favorite player is pointed out by some of the most insightful Rockets fans on this board and yet they get accused as "this only fans, haters, bashers or contracting a "certain desease." Some of these accusations are just out of hand. It reminds me of the Salem Witchcraft Story.

Man, iOrange, that list is scary. Except for Yao it's just about in inverse order of playing time. No wonder this team is so frustrating.

They continue to make mistakes that high school coaches won't tolerate. Bring back Bill Fitch!

Why are there always these damn bball IQ things??? Jeez, you see a new one pop up every few days or something. TIRESOME. The whole idea was set up to praise yao anyways, and even though yao deserves praise this sequence "praise yao then bash francis/mobley in the same breath" really sux. Can a thread ever NOT include bashing of the rox guards?? EVER???

I agree, Steve just get's ahead of himself sometimes and looks like he's playing sloppy. 2 or 3 years from now, Steve will be even more scary.

Thank you, this thread is stupid, complaining after a great win is appalling, and these people won't be happy until Steve is traded to another team to win a ring. I remember when our idiot bandwaggoner fans wanted to get rid of Olajuwon back around 1990. Somethings never change.

How come Mo Taylor is in most people's top 5?? I know he doesn't exactly make an ass out of himself every game like some argue Steve does... and I know stats don't exactly equal intelligence (Yao is easily the smartest).

That said, I think that steve is a smarter player, not exactly bball's einstein, but his ability to improvise, create offense, and run the 2nd youngest pro team to an 8th place record in the WEST shows he has at least average bball smarts.

How could you rank him lower than an ex-clipper, who if he's LUCKY, will finish his career at his current average of 13 and 5 and wear the label "soft" across his forehead forever??
