Happy Birthday to B.B. King, born in Ita Bena, Mississippi on this day in 1925.

    Long live the King!

Jesus. Given 2020, I clicked on this thread fully expecting it to be the next RIP.

He died in 2015 after 10,000+ performances.

You know you're getting old when you can't keep track of who's alive and who's dead anymore.

I guess the next step comes when you just assume every name you recognize is dead by default.

    *Sigh*

Saw him at Mardi Gras in 2002. Still had it.

I never saw him perform, and I regret it. As a kid, I never really listened to the blues, and knew squat about music, but loved the way he made Lucille cry. I still remember seeing him for the first time on Sanford & Son reruns. I had no idea who he was until much later. "Oh damn, B.B. King on that Sanford & Son episode was somebody famous?? I thought he was just a character." :D
