not on warriors tho...boils down to tanking doesnt work ..trading doesnt work... only high bb iq works...if your shooting coaches dont teach, if your coach doesnt coach, if your culture is not great...doesnt matter who you get...

He is worth the max if someone is willing to pay him the max.

Someone's willing to pay Matt Maloney, Kelvin Cato, and Chandler Parsons all those contracts. Therefore, they are worth every penny.

I rather pay Ayton max than wood.
Wood isn't getting any better, he is what he is

Ayton's worth the max if you think he can either improve his offensive footwork in the paint or else expand his jump-shooting range to the three-point line. He's a very impactful defender--a rim protector who can switch onto perimeter players without embarrassing himself. I think he can become a more effective inside scorer--he's probably worth risking a regular max (as opposed to a super max, which he obviously doesn't qualify for) on, especially for a team like Detroit or Portland that has a tough time recruiting. The max at his experience level isn't awful.

Ayton has not shown that he’s worth a max…he’s soft, and not aggressive enough

he gets 74% of his shots assisted for his career, and last year it was 81%

he is nowhere close to being an All-Defense caliber big

so you’ve got a big man who has relied heavily on others for buckets, and his defense isn’t top tier either…he’s also not much of a threat from the perimeter

imagine u give him the max and he’s still giving u just 17 and 10 and nothing special defense

I believe Ayton is worth a max....for other teams. For PHX prob not.

His max with PHX is 35M, his max with other teams are 26M. The max for superstars is already resching 45M+ so the 25M now is like 15M in the past.

Having his shots assisted isnt an issue most big men have their shots assisted.

For example Mobley also had most of his shots assisted but his TS is only 55%. Ayton is at 66% TS. That 10% is a huge diff in efficiency.

the least u could do is do some actual research before posting fake news…

    smh

Ayton can receive 5/177 from the Suns, or 4/131 from another team

    131/4 isn’t 26

Oops my bad thought it was 131/5. Not sure how being off by 1 yr somehow means I didnt do my research or am somehow spreading fake news. You think I just imagined his suns number or what?

131/4 is 32M. Its not 26 but it aint exactly an earth shattering difference as well smh. 6M isnt gonna be the difference between overpaid and great deal when you are talking about max deals.

too bad he isn’t worth a max deal to begin with

Mobley projects to be elite defensively and 1 of the best perimeter defending bigs in the league

last I checked, u can’t say the same for Ayton

Rockets can get their hands dirty with this. If Rockets can get him, playoffs can be in the future.

Wasn't he one of the backup big men the Jordan-Pippen Bulls cycled through? Bison Dele, Deandre Ayton, etc.

With Detroit nailing the draft and getting Duren I wonder of they'll still pursue Ayton? Who are the leftover candidates?

Phoenix is dump. They went away from Ayton and it was puzzling to everyone here in Phoenix. He's an important part of that team.
