The Axiom was/is(?) off McKinney on the other side of 59 from the GRBrown. Powertools was downstairs from the building next door to The Brewery Tap (by Buffalo Bayou).
oh...to hear the Blissfull sounds of "my desire" live again...wish I could be there ...oh yeah..and Sprawl was great too ...Bayou Pigs...heh..heh...still have a scar on my forehead from one of their shows ...de Schmog..I really liked them, but only got to see them once ...could we get billygoat back together too?
I haven't been in RI since 2005. Turned out that theater was in a lot of financial trouble and I didn't want to deal with all that. Went from there to Chicago, then to Houston to direct Speeding Motorcycle (a rock opera with music by Daniel Johnston), then to Pittsburgh to direct another thing and meet the love of my life. I'm in Houston now and she's coming down to join me when her show closes July 1. the futants: The Axiom's still at 2524 McKinney, right where it always was. Re: de Schmog, Kilian tells me they're trying to record a new album which would be a neat trick as he's in Chicago, Diane's in NC and the rest of the boys are in Houston.
That place got crazy on more than a few occasions! I remember one Halloween night when the place was PACKED and everyone was Xing Crazy! Congrats on the new lady love!
Thanks, Mark As far as I know. I haven't seen him in a year or two. After the place closed, he ran for mayor in several consecutive elections. In 93 we had him out for a candidate's forum at the live Catal Huyuk talk show, which I co-hosted with Claire Richards. Ray Hill was there too. Good times.
