But she played for the RUSSIANS. Because of this, I'd have to hit it and quit it.

Even though the Spurs are our rivals I will take them anyday over the Mavs and Mark Cuban.

This still makes ZERO sense to me.
So when you argue with a Spurs fan and they throw "Four rings" into the argument and end it right there, what do you respond with? Yeah, nothing cos they own Texas b-ball with two championships more than we have.

When you argue with a Mavs fan, all you have to do is point out that they have no titles and the argument is over. They slink into the corner crying and repeating the words, "That wasn't a foul on D.Wade" and "I can't believe Antoine freakin Walker has a championship ring".

I HATE THE SPURS more than the Mavs.

Because they've accomplished more? That really makes a lot of sense.

Perhaps you fail to understand the concept of hating your rival that's accomplished more than you and paying no attention to the one that tries to mix it up with the big boys but has no skins on the wall.

Pretty difficult to understand I gather. Let me know how your next convo with a Spurs fan goes when they bring up their championships and you remind them that the Rockets have won two less.

The 90's called, they want their clever "_____ called, they want their _____ back" back.

I live in San Antonio. Spurs fans here aren't even like that. They don't claim their franchise to be better than anyone elses... they're just passionate fans and won't let anyone talk trash about their team. Dallas fans, on the other hand, will try to bring up useless bull**** and try to claim that they've had a better franchise because they've been in the playoffs this decade and they've won more now than the Rockets ever had (which isn't true), at least that's what I've experienced from a few Mavs fans.

I've been to Dallas. They're about as petty as Jazz fans.

I understand SA is a rival and has won more than we have, but I don't see the need to hate a respectable franchise like the Spurs. On the other hand, you have idiots like Mark Cuban in Dallas that have no respect, at least IMO. We both have our opinions, I choose to respect the Spurs a little more than the Mavs.

Good to see it at 1-1. I'm somewhat surprised that Dallas didn't give some minutes to Beaubois, even though it's hard for him with Jason Terry around.
Sorry this should have been in the Spurs/Mavs game thread.

So what, we should hate the Bulls as they have six rings? That's just petty.
Spurs are a well-run organization, the pinnacle of the small market teams, and their players aren't complete douches like Kidd or Terry, not to mention that ******* Cuban, in contrast to Duncan whom is the one superstar this past decade I respect the most.

Not to mention, it's Dallas. Home of Texas pretentiousness.

so he is not spending enough money, because they probably have best record since 2000, but since 2000, the rockets and the mavs have the same amount of rings.

you dont win if you spend the most money, you win if you are smart spending the money.

We won 2 championships in the 90s and couldnt break the 1st round till last year. So does that make Les Alexander a bad owner?

Cuban is fine. He might be a little too hands on for my taste (which is why I like our owner more) but he's not dumb like Al davis or daniel snyder.

I can understand your reasoning, but I feel differently. I'll take the Spurs over the Mavs every time. The Spurs are a great organization and win with class. The Mavs are a bunch of whiny babies.

Plus, even though both may be "rival" teams because they're in Texas, we haven't played the Spurs in the playoffs recently.

Man at the end of the day I'm a rockets fan and I don't really care what happens with those 2 teams during the playoffs. For those of you defending Spurs fans In San Antonio and bashing Mavs fans I think you got this one all wrong. Houston fans in general hate Dallas because of the cowboys not much because of the mavs; it's a jealousy thing. Dallas people know they have the better sports town so they talk trash to us and to san antonio people based on that. San Antonio and their people on the other hand despite of having just 1 Professional sports franchise (spurs) claim to be all Cowboys fans. I guess you gotta root for some other city's franchise when you don't have one of your own. If and when well (maybe never) San Antonio lands a pro-football team All those Cowboys Jersey wearing Fans in San Antonio would take them off for their new local team. Listen for a few weeks to San Antonio sports radio and you will find out that they hate Houston rockets fans more than they do Dallas Mavs and maybe their allegiance to the cowboys have something to do with that or maybe Rockets hindering their play-offs hopes in the 90's or maybe Hakeem embarrassing, humiliating their MVP D. Robinson the night he received the award at their own arena...... Do I need to post the youtube video ?? nah, we all remember..

Bottom line I see them all as rivals. I want my rockets to kill them all spurs, mavs and jazz but as people definitely San Antonio locals are just flat out weird, obnoxious and rude...

Marc Cuban shouldn't have said what he said about S.A. River walk but he wasn't wrong on his observation; I mean have you seen that thing ?? it looks like it needs to flow underground , cover that thing San Antonio...

Fact: can be proved. e.g. Dallas has its own ESPN site.

Opinion: that which cannot be proved. e.g. Dallas is the best sports town (using a superlative on something that is largely judgmental).

    Verdict: Failed post.
