My question to you is what makes you think that Les is willing to so quickly reverse his decision and go back to a heavy-handed, authoritarian style coach? Not that long ago we had JVG here who filled that role. Les going back to this would show his decision to move to more of a players coach was either wrong or has been failure. Look at the leash he's given the Yao/Tracy experiment. Adleman's time here is just another tweak on the overall experiment as we enter into what may be the end of this era with 2010 free agency around the corner.

Sorry, I made a similar poll, but I expanded the list of candidates to other ex-Rockets. ;)

    Why is that his fault?

Because he was cheating. Because after he came back, we have lost each of the three games he made 20 shots.

If we still can't pass the 1st round this year,Avery should be the best candidate to replace Adelman.

I absolutely can not stand avery johnson, couldn't stand him as a player, couldn't stand him as a coach, and would be sick if he became our coach.

Way too emotional, and overrated in my opinion.

I'd rather get kicked in the kods than have him as the coach here. I'll roshambo you for it.

I have a feeling that at least one of those two players Raven is talking about is notorious for his poor defensive play.

Either give me JVG or keep Adelman. Avery gets on my damn nerves.

Ironically, we had a screamer that the team never quit on and players actually loved. I think we need to stop blaming whoever the coach is when these things happen.

Let JVG come back and let him keep his commentating job so we can laugh our @ss's off while we watch Jeff coaching and talking bad about the other teams. :D

Instead of Avery we should have just kept JVG.

I don't get where people get the idea the JVG was a screamer or was heavy-handed. He seemed like a workaholic and perfectionist and wanted to see those things in his players. I saw frustration on his face a lot while he paced back and forth during games but I never saw him get in a guy's face or scream at a player or even an official. I think comparisons to Scott Skiles and Avery Johnson are not accurate.

Every Rocket I can think of that was coached by JVG except for Bonzi and Francis seemed to genuinely like playing for him. I don't think Skiles or Avery can say that..

If this team fails again to make it out of the 1st round, I would want Avery Johnson simply because he is a very strict coach and that's what this team needs. He is just like Jeff Van Gundy except he knows what he is talking about offensively unlike JVG.

Rick Adelman is an offensive genius and a great coach and no one can deny that. I am not sure his coaching philosophy fits for the Rockets though.

Avery would make T-Mac work his ass off I can already guarantee you that or T-Mac is probably going to the dog house where Bonzi was sent when JVG was the coach.

The 85 of you that said yes need to put down the pipe. Look, Avery is only seen as a decent coach because he fell into a good team, and learned under a great coach. Don Nelson showed Avery that he is still the student, and that Nelson is still the teacher. I'm all for a young revolutionary coach but that's after the Tmac era. For now, we need a learned coach who understands stars. Honestly, if health was not a factor I'd be on the side that's begging Rudy to come back....

Adelman is not a good coach for T-Mac. If Rox wants to keep T-Mac, then should change a coach for T-Mac.

I seriously hope this is a joke. Avery is way too overbearing.

I think people need to trust Adelman and realize he's dealing with a constantly changing line up. Now that it is more consistent, be prepared to see the results of a coach who knows how to produce killer teams. Think Kings... think Blazers... think us last year during the 22. This is going to be an awesome play offs and will prove to be way more exciting than the Rockets have been these past few months. Adelman = intellectual.
