There's a former NBA player who I think would be a great pickup for the Rockets. He's a high energy hustler/defender who I think would be just the kind of guy JVG likes, and is currently a member of the ABA's Long Beach Jam.

That's right, the Rockets should sign Juaquin Hawkins.

Hawk played fairly well in limited minutes with us, and would give us a solid third string SG. He's a good defender with a knack for getting steals, and with the shooting slump Cuttino's been in, and how Pike seems to be in JVG's doghouse, I think it would be smart to add him to the roster, even if it only means signing him to a quick 10-day contract to see if he can play.

    What do you guys think?

I liked Hawkins when we had him on the team before. He was a scrappy player who was always ready to take a hit for the team. If we could get him back just until Adrian Griffin heals up, sure. But I'm not sure if we can get him...

Not sure where the minutes should come from right now, and Gundy does not seem to like to play a rotation with a lot of people. If a couple of guys got injured, it could be an interesting option, though.

We've already got way too many people who can play SG. Cat, JJ, Pike, A. Griffin, and even SF. I don't really think more backups at the SG position is what we need.

The Hawks game is much more suited to the European Style of Play, more so than the NBA.

I like Hawkins but as hnjjjz pointed out, SG is the last position that we need help at.
