It was an excellent idea! Who wouldn't want to camp out of the back of their truck with a full size tent for two?!
I know it's been posted, but it's still great to watch again and again.. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3oBg8C6PMYo&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3oBg8C6PMYo&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I'm sad. Seriously. I'm one of the few that is a "Pontiac guy". I've had about 10 different ones and they have all served me well. Pontiac was never there to compete with Toyota or Honda. Their competition was Hyundai and Mazda as both makes were similar in quality and price. With Hyundai and Mazda vastly improving their products and coming on strong and moving past Pontiac and the stigma of the "american car" deteriorating, Pontiac was going to eventually fail. It is a shame too. Their bodies were all the same, but I thought Pontiac always had some of the best looking interiors of all the makes.
I never did like Pontiacs and I have had a few people tell me to get a G8 since I am looking for a new car.
I don't know about any issues with it, but bang-for-the-buck, it's a pretty good deal. If you want to go nuts get the V8.
I, for one, am sad to see the Pontiac go. Gone is that glimmer of hope that would manifest every time I saw a hot chick driving a crappy Sunfire. Much like a seeing a hot chick getting on a bus, it enables every guy to think "Hey, I don't see why I don't have a chance with that?"
So you are quoting other posts I wrote in other threads rather than defending the comment I wrote about unionization? Again, you're going to need to help me out with your reasoning here.
The FFB, in his illustrious wisdom and mantra of "forum daddy-esque policy monitoring", has, on occasion, deemed it worthy of his tremendously bulky ego to decry those who might deign to insiduously partake of intellectual discourse nominally reserved for alternative arenas of our cyberspatial realm. At the same time, the FFB, in his infinite hypocrisy, rarely feels that such a noble standard should be rigorously applied to his own bombastic word play. As such, I was merely remarking that your silly and bizarre auto union commentary should be reserved for the D&D. And, given your past posts, is just another notch in "fatty fat b*stard's resident hypocritical egamaniac scorecard of shame". Lastly, as I do not really give a ****, but merely enjoy mocking you, I will cease replying to this silly charade.
My neighbor has one. Sweet, sweet car. He says you can get them just ludicrously cheap now. I hear there is a GXP (GXT?) now with a manual transmission and even more HP standard.
What's the saddest part about GM's woes right now is that, in my opinion at least, they seem to finally be "getting it" in terms of building attractive cars that offer good value for the money and don't appear to be built by raiding the cheap parts bin. Cars like the Solstice or the G8 or the Chevy Malibu or those new SUVs (GMC Acadia and whatever the Buick and Chevy versions are called), at least in terms of initial quality, are nice looking cars that aren't cursed with cheap-o looking interiors or the hideous plastic body pieces Pontiac was known for for a time. And cars like the Cadillac CTS do well in magazine road tests (and, in my opinion, are nice looking, too) often stacking up quite well against Japanese and European offerings.
I had a 1987 Pontiac Grand. It was a Grand Am, but the "Am" fell off. I hated that POS. it got me from point a to point b...until, for no apparent reason, there was a hole in the oil pan. Didn't know it until it was too late. If that wasn't one of the ugliest vehicles of all time, I don't know what was. At worst, it's in the top 5
If you didn't "give a ****," then you wouldn't continually respond to my posts with this nonsense. This is the second time this week you've come at me with a personal jab. Truly ironic that you posted about MY hypocrisy. Enjoy partying on your deck with your non-existent friends.
