Is that street value? What's the whole sale value of the Mexican stuff? Just wondering how much the cartels actually lost, money that would've crossed the border.

A pound of pot goes for about 800-2000 depending on the quality.

I love how the cop makes it sound like this is some great blow against an evil super villain. The fact is, most people don't consider weed a threat, they don't think it's scary, and they likely don't find it all that important if there's a bust.

Keep hanging onto the 80s, pig.

    Uhhhh no.

This is probably some dank crap so I'm guessing it's worth at most, $500 a pound.

 It's not what's good about the drugs, it's that the competition to sell the drugs is really violent.

Don't know why, but I thought of this here guy immediately after reading your first sentence, sir:

Well at least they can still sniff markers and highlighters for a small fraction of that amount.

The authorities have been confiscating this stuff since the 30's.. If they just legalize it, taxed it, sell the stuff they have in their storage, we won't even be in a financial crisis anymore and the U.S will make so much money they can build cities on the moon, lol...
I'm actually high now typing this...

Not quite. Not only is this stuff Mexi (low grade), the dollar amounts don't really adjust proportionally as one moves up the quantity ladder.

so you're saying you can get a pound of dro for $15/eighth if you buy it in bulk?

jeez, no wonder so many people turn to selling...

As someone said earlier, a pound a pot can go for as low 400 bucks a pound delivered in the US. I imagine its just about $200(total guess) bucks from the grower in Mexico.

    So 4 bucks in bulk.

that is high-grade prices. if it was coming from mexico it was more than likely the cheapo stuff - $20/quarter - a pound at wholesale prices is probably around $700 - $750. that would make 30 tons about 45 million - the total cost to the cartel would have probably been half that - $20 million or so. either way, its alot of money.

    i only buy american anyway!

Legalizers would have me believe that mar1juana trade was mostly domestic so it didn't help the cartels when you smoked. This doesn't make it look that way.

You can get a pound any where from $350 to $500. Depends where you live. If it's been dry... you'll pay more.

You're getting ripped off if you're paying that much for an ounce. You can get a "QP" for that much.
