I like Austin but he's a 28 yo, up and down, role player. I would rather Silas give his minutes to a rook with potential. Might find something better than an up and down role player.
Good for him and us. I get he was upset with his playing time and role and to test the market makes a lot of sense. Also since we don't know our direction it makes sense. He was also not paid that well and didn't play all that well, so it feels right both move on.
Why do every poster on this board seem to think there no positive market for any of our current players?
Honestly I didn't like him much before he got here and now I tip my hat on his way out. Austin Rivers on a hot streak was a fun thing to watch.
To be fair, this is the correct thing to say to the media. It already doesn't help that Rivers played 4 years for his dad. By saying he does have a good relationship, people will point to nepotism or other negative things as to why Rivers might get lots of money or whatever. There wouldn't be a positive way to spin anything.
