Finding a Star Player like Mahmoud Abdul Rauf is really Rare. 2 Dribbles and Quick Shot. High IQ, Sets Up Plays, Bullet Assists Under the Basket Passes.

This is the exactly the type of Player the Rockets must Find in the Draft - Stephen Curry, Trae Young, Mahmoud Abdul Rauf

Dream Player, Ahead of his Time

We have him. His name is Jalen Green. Players with shorter wingspans tend to make amazing shooters, Steph Curry, Ray Allen... the problem is this franchise has given him a green light to try and play like a Kobe or Dwade or a Jordan which his body is not built like.

Twilight of his career he played for Fenerbahce, Istanbul and people were counting how many FT he made without missing during training seasons. I guess 57 was the highest.

In those days he was watching martial art movies all days and scoring, nothing else. Good all days.

It's something they got to wholeheartedly believe, making the extra pass, sacrificing their stats.

When I coach my youth league teams I'm not depending on a vet. I'm benching, yelling, and calling timeouts on the spot of stupidity. "Hey don't take that shot", "hey buddy you were to suppose to get back on defense". Benching and playing with no favoritism.

Next practice I speak of all the mistakes and we get better. I ridiculously imitate in an embarrassing way of what they did so they see how dumb it looks. My wife tells me I made her cringe when I do that.

I guess coaching is different in the NBA, it's just clap clap good job.

He needs some muscle. Get more Stamina, especially late in the Fourth Quarter he doesn't get tired. Jalen is still absorbing heavy minutes.

Jordan added muscle after the Piston beat down in 1989, Upper Body Strength and Leg Work. His Trainer also helped Hakeem Olajuwon and Hakeem was unstoppable in 1993 - 1995

One of the bigger dangers of having KPJ around and thinking he is the "head honcho" is the devastating impact it has on Jalen Green's development.

Instead of learning to play the right way, either from his coach or from a seasoned veteran and smart player who has actually achieved success at the highest level, we have a soup-throwing moron constantly in Jalen's ear, blabbering nonstop, thinking of himself as that veteran, as that "head honcho".

Truly a case of the blind leading the blind.

And of course, it is the coaching staff's responsibility to not allow that to happen, regardless of whether village idiot "YOLO" thinks that's not part of the coach's job description.

And it's even worse if the coach actively enables and supports it.

He understands, he’s just the biggest SOF out there that wants to insult all the other players on team to make Sengun look good. He does it all the time. In a perfect world to him, there’d be 5 Senguns starting

If only there was someone on the sidelines who had the power to to teach players the right way in practices and/or also pull a player out of the game and give them instructions when they are screwing up. If only that person could design offensive and defensive schemes to use as a base a system while installing minor tweaks to accommodate certain opponents and matchups. Too bad NBA teams do not have a person who meets that description. ;) (sarcasm off)

In case you missed it, Sengun's name had not been mentioned once on this thread - until you showed up. The discussion has been about whether Rivers' observations (despite Rivers saying the coach is not responsible) implicate the coach (my opinion) or not ("YOLO"'s opinion).

There go, putting people on ignore when you don’t agree with em. You act like a teenage girl, grow a pair for once.

I know, but I also know what you’re thinking and what you’re trying to do. You’re just a SOF, which is disappointing bc you’ve been around so long. Like how does that happen?

Exactly what does a thread about a Austin Rivers quote about our boneheaded guards needing better leadership have to do with Sengun?

"And you can’t look at acoach, either"

Funny thing about this quote is the he said that so people don’t misconstrued it or take it out off context, instead because he said that people are misconstruing and taking it out of context.

He's got a bit of a point and he's not gonna call out another coach, but I think the only reason he said this was because KPJ clowned him with the pointing thing after an and-1 over him. This is a little passive aggressive clap back.

So basically he was trying to emphasize that the Rockets need more of a veteran presence but he didn’t want out right say it or look like LeGm so he added the coach thing as a qualifier to be more pc.

And yes he knows coaching is important, but that was the point of his comment

I had no idea who he was. Bring a sof makes some sense now. Clearly there was a narrative there and no wonder he sounds like a loser. I called him out about it and like a crybaby he couldn’t take it

notice how he name drops me numerous times again LOL.

Funny thing is he’d be a better vet than anyone here, especially with how his career played out and how he found his place in the league
