He may well be a free agent as he has a player option for next season , other than that its "early bird rights" or he goes elsewhere , they don't have full bird rights until after next season. I think the odds are he exercises that option as there just isn't going to be very much $$ out there in FA and next years vet min is likely to be much less than this years.
I still remember us all laughing at him when he made those clumsy plays in that infamous series against LAC (crossing himself, falling over and bouncing the ball off his face etc). He's come a long way since then.
