its a no brainer that if rivers was there we would take him. It gives us a scorer with a very nice crossover who can create his own shot.(which we dont have). who do we have that can drive the ball in the mid-range and get his own shot in crunch time if/when dragic leaves? Austin Rivers would be something like our James Harden.

We have Kevin Martin and Courtney Lee. Even if we ship Martin off somewhere, Courtney Lee is more than capable of being our starter.

No means no. 6'5'' cannot guard the Kobes and the Wades of the NBA.

We would still need a backup.

There's a certain 6'7 guard that can't guard any of the SGs in the NBA.

Austin Rivers is a borderline NBA talent at best. He lacks superior size or athleticism and isn't all that smart a player for being a Dukie and son of a coach. Pass.

Courtney Lee is 6'5" on a good day. You want a starter that can't guard Kobes and Wades?

Must take Austin rivers if he is available at #14. Saw him against Beal in a Nike camp. Matched bucket for bucket. He can become adequate defensively but the offensive talent he has is very hard to find. He has the potential to be a Reggie miller clutch kind of player. Has that kind of shooting confidence. He went 1on 5 many times at Duke. Not a system that showcased his talents.
Only knock is his strength right now.

Wade is 6'4. Kobe is 6'6. I don't see the problem here.

Courtney Lee is 6'5. I'm not sure you were aware.

He's listed at 6'5". I know he isn't that tall. More like 6'4" in shoes.

No-brainer to me, if he is available. He could be the Stephen Curry of the draft. His smartness and his ability, he can only improve. Michael Jordan has always said something like that talent is great, but the greatest asset is mental toughness. Rockets at this point, must take the best prospect, not the best available position player, this is a steal if he is at 14. If he isn't lottery-type player, his dad would of told him to keep him in school. Some teams are scared to take him because his dad is still employed, I still take that chance.

First of all if we're draftfing 14th, it's already a failure. We need to move up or move out of this draft. I don't know how many times I've seen in this thread... "He a poor man's so and so..." We don't need a poor man's so and so, we need a ****ing so and so. Our team right now is full of poor man's so and sos. In honor of game 1 tonight... If we keep drafting poor man's so and sos... We will be picking 14th for not one, not two, not three...., not seven more seasons.

The size is not an issue, he's 6'5 in shoes 200 lbs. he'll need to gain wait but he will. He is only 19 years old.

Saw someone say he doesn't play smart... That's way off. One of his strengths is his bball iq.

Austin Rivers will make an all star game in his career... Book it!

Ability wise, yes. Mentality wise, DEFINITELY NOT. If Kevin Martin had Austin Rivers's mentality, he'd might have been a multiple year all-star selection. Still, Rivers might peak as a Kevin Martin type player, yet has the potential to be greater or worse.
