I saw this on Fox News by Dan Patrick who urged sacrificing seniors for he and his buds economic interests. I have started to dip into Fox a bit to understand the stuff fed their viewers.

If I were the mayor I would not do it. However, I love the typical conservative meme: "We are only out for ourselves so F everyone else. No matter how selfish at least we are not hypocrites. Those liberals who say they care about everyone , but sometimes act selfishly so they are worthless hypocrites.

Trump of course is the epitome of this with his lying, cheating and p***y grabbing etc.

Everyone is misunderstanding this. Obviously, as a leader of the benevolent working class party, he is just advocating that everyone have a private jet so they can travel in safety. Don't be silly.

I don't know why you threw in "space exploration". From what I understand loverals would rather invest tax money on higher property items before "space exploration" such as green energy and healthcare. It's not that space exploration isn't important. It's just that those initiatives have top priority.

I'm assuming you included it to show how not pragmatic liberals are?

And why do you assume "liberals" get their news from twitter more so than conservatives? That one makes no sense. To me the major divide in this country is "people who read full length articles" vs "people who read click bait headlines and memes" and I believe the side that values higher education where you read and write a lot are more prone to the former camp while the side that puts down that type of education values the later type of information dissemination.

It was more about Musk taking government funds to build successful private industries where as many have failed. Some people have not the faintest idea how capitalism works. b****ing about someone who is making billions off the solution to one of our planets biggest issues is just idiotic.

If you value education, you should value a person who does not stand with a party but instead a leader. Both parties have very intelligent candidates. Both parties have really terrible candidates. The best leaders are the ones who are the trail blazers, working to find solutions. Not camped up in some government office being more concerned about keeping their jobs than doing the jobs they were hired to do.

Bickering with conservatives is pointless. They are not the one who are touting higher education. Getting a degree in one field does not make you more intelligent, much less believing you're intelligent in all fields. Any fool arguing with a bigger fool can make himself look smart, but he is still a fool.
Im certainly not going to make a claim that I am more intelligent. But I do know getting your opinions from twitter is no different than reading click bait articles...if not worse. And we all have read full length **** articles.

If someone can not full explain and understand their oppositions point, they are not as knowledgeable as they want to believe they are.

I believe work has to be put in to improve your critical thinking skills and your ability to disseminate between clickbait / meme fake news and actual news that takes time to absorb through reading.

I don't believe that skill just comes out of now where. It takes patience and practice to actually read articles. I think college students who actually try and out effort into their school work have a higher advantage in terms of absorbing media content and not being brainwashed through slogans simplistic arguments and platitudes. So even for what I'm sure you consider worthless areas of study such as social sciences, for four years these kids read lengthy nuanced content and then write lengthy analytical papers organizing their thoughts and forcing themselves to be introspective.

Yes, there are some Americans who without a higher education do read and write on their own. Those people will also have a upper hand in absorbing news content. So no, I don't think formal higher education is the only path to gain these skill sets but in reality you and I know very well that the vast majority of Americans do not practice these skillets on their own time outside a classroom environment forcing them to. So the ones who actually practiced it for four years probably are better suited to handle decimating information online. Outliers exist but I believe this to be the trend.

And yes there are a large portion of college students who shouldn't be at college as they are skating though their business administration major with a c-. They should he doing something else with their life. But I do believe they should at least of some more social science training before college. Possibly create a 13th grade practicing these skillets with a variety of classes.

Or maybe we are always just going to be stuck with those type of people regardless of what we do?
