I may or may not have one. One of our clients at work just had to want his stuff done by october 4th which might mean late nights at work instead of ACL I'll send you a private message if I have to sell.
I'm not sure C3 could have screwed this up worse than that, IMO. I'm no fan of the YYYs. I've tried listening, but then my ears started to bleed. They still haven't filled the Lily Allen spot.
Rafael Sadiiq is replacing Lily Allen... for all of you who don't know, he was part of Tony Tone Toni
ACL never really did it for me. The only artists I'd really be interested in seeing this year would be Daniel Johnston, Deer Tick and maybe the Dodos. Was a huge fan of SY when I was younger, but they really don't do it for me anymore. I'm much more excited about Fun Fun Fun Fest. Atlas Sound, Broadcast, Les Savy Fav, and the most important of all, the Jesus ****ing Lizard. Can't wait!
all the more reason i'm glad i wont be attending fri... i will, however, be at the deer tick show friday night at emos.
Deer Tick @ Emo's? How the Fawk did I not hear of this?? I've been listening to Born on Flag Day just about every day for the past month.
Sounds good. In the meantime I'll remain on the lookout. Absolutely. I will be there for sure, one way or another. I'll shoot ya my cell number.
stipendlax: If you're a Daniel Johnston fan and you live in Houston, come see my new play based on Daniel's life and music opening this December at Stages Repertory Theatre. The play is titled "Life is Happy and Sad," after a drawing of his. And it stars Matt Brownlie (ex-Bring Back the Guns, Groceries). My previous Daniel Johnston play, "Speeding Motorcycle," was a big hit in Houston and Austin.
Man, that is really awesome. I've met Matt before. My old band played with BBTG. I was a huge fan. Keep me updated, man. Will definitely check it out.
you didn't get the ACL aftershow email? it was on it, along with blittzen trapper thursday night and a slew of other shows. i actually haven't been this excited about ACL since 2005.
They've filled the last spot on Friday...Them Crooked Vultures. If you haven't heard of them, they are... Joshua Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) John Paul Jones (Led Zepplin) Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana) themcrookedvultures.com Holy flerking snit. I'm officially ready for the festival.
Woo-hoo!! I was hoping they'd be added! Quoting you so you keep me in mind for that ticket if you can't make it.
