To be honest I've only heard bad things about Australia. The only good thing I've heard about Australia is about this actress Nicole Kidman. I heard she acted in this famous movie. Maybe someone can help me out?

From Melbourne and being an Essendon supporter have to have at least a bit of a soft spot for Andrew Bogut.

joe Ingles was getting a run for the Warriors and Luke Nevill was also running around for one of the teams in the summer league..

Chonox, I'm sure you'll be happy to hear that when it comes to Origin, I'm quite the traitor haha.

I don't really watch NRL anymore, but I was a huge Broncos fan in the mid-late 90's when i was in my early teens. I know, I'm from Sydney, why root for the Brisbane Broncos? I guess it's because the first NRL collector card I ever got in one of those little bubblegum packs was Alfie Langer.

    I'm from Perth.

The wildcats have been one of the few teams who continue to succeed in the NBL with the stadium being sold out most weeks. Mind you it will never go back to the early 90's when the games were shown live on FTA tv and the 4 of the 5 in the starting 5 were from America.

As you can see by my username I haven't had much success with my aussie rules allegiance either :(

I only started watching NBL in the mid 90's (i was born in 1985). From memory i thought they still had the 2 import rule in place. How do you ahve a starting lineup of americans when you're only allowed 2 imports on one team?

Naturalised citzens made up a big part of the NBL at one stage

I think the Wildcats would of had Scott Fisher, Ricky Grace, The Alabama Slammer James Crawford and another import in there somewhere.. I think in the end all 3 might have been naturlised.

Still have the video at home of the Wildcats vs Rockets at the World Club Championships.. Rockets debuted those horrible uniforms..

Damn, I remember briefly watching the Wldcats - Rockets match. I was only 11 at the time, so I don't remember it all to well.

    Sorry, I don't follow union.

Why is your favorite team on Earth the Rockets? Assuming that was the case before Andersen signed...

For me it was as simple as collecting Hakeem bball cards when I was young, decided I didn't want to be like every other kid in school and go for the Lakers or Bulls. Luckily for me I really started following them and the NBA in 90-91, so didn't wait long until I was able to stick it to all the Bulls bandwagon. Still have a couple of replica championship banners that I found in a sports store on a family trip to Sydney.

Almost exacly the same scenario here.

I specifically remember watching a Bulls Rockets game on NBA Game of the week in either 92 or 93 that the Rocks won (Dream had the goggles in the game)

Had well over 100 Hakeem cards - still do somewhere.

Yeh I remember the days... we only had two tv channels and no pay tv. Southern Cross and ABC in the North. SC used to have the NBA game every week and would have the playoffs on with all the finals games.. normally at about midnight and a day behind. I remember when MJ made his comeback they promoted his comeback game like crazy, only time I can ever remember NBA getting such a big promotion on free to air tv in Australia.
