And DJ has great chemistry with Sengun. DJ is much better 3ball shooter as well. Do NOT mess with the HOUnds on our 2nd Unit Silas!!!!
Hope they keep him to mentor the new point guard they draft... Should be 1st priority .. Damn a Panchero or Chet.. There's enough potential "scorers "and "playmakers" on this team... We need a real PG that can initiate a half court set properly...
Probably one that isn't a dynamic score first PG.. Which is exactly what's not needed for this group of players
Augustin is a career 38% 3pt shooter and has an assist to turnover ratio of 2.6. I see him as the PG version of Jeff Green, decent all around for a backup role, maybe as a starter for some teams. These guys are serviceable in everything their position requires but do not excel in anything. They have long NBA careers because they are useful for a lot of teams but they move from team to team because they are very replaceable often as contract matchers in trade packages.
His chemistry with Sengun is excellent and getting better, with last night being an obvious example. @SamFisher has a point (no pun intended), though, about needing to be using a one nearer in age to the young players we have so many of, who a lot of us hope will be a large part of the core of the Rockets when we're good enough to make a serious run in the playoffs. The problem is, where's that point guard? Is that really going to be Porter, or is he a wing with glimpses of real talent who may, or may not, settle into the defined role of running our offence? I'm not convinced. Someone else on the team, or do we still need to fill that spot? One of the reasons Augustine has moments where he really stands out is not simply those plays, but because he's the only real point we have on the Rockets, in my opinion.
