This isn't about Tracy's injury but him throwing Les, Morey, Rick, Yao, and the rest of the Rockets under the bus by going to the media first.

Yes, agreed.....at the end of the day it is TMac's decision.....with input from doctors, and the organization.

Do you guys think the NETS would bite on a trade like this:

T-Mac, Artest, Head for VC and Devin Harris?!?

This is absolute disrespect towards our team, coach, and fans -- Tracy won't be welcome in Houston any longer.

He's probably going to say on his website after the trade deadline:"Hey my great fans! I've finally decided that I wouldn't take the surgery and would rest a couple of weeks, I will be BACK, better than EVER soon! And I will laugh!"

His talent was unparallel. That doesn't excuse the fact that he has taken the Rockets for granted and his career is effectively over

I also feel like part of the blame here is on Stupid Ass Smith. Maybe Tmac told SAS in private and this guy just leaked it to get a breaking scoop.

uhmm.. no. You are wrong. So you're basically saying that a player can decide to "shut it down" solely by himself, even when most of the medical evidence says he is okay? Wow talk about sitting on a fat contract. I don't think in ANY professional sports (minus maybe boxing) can a player just decide solely on his own to take the year off when he is under contract and especially without team approval first.

Sure he can shut it down though it is HIS choice. but then of course, we call this QUITTING ON THE TEAM, or TANKING, and usually is followed by a suspension or fine.

This is the most crucial point of the article..........why didn't the team use one of those machines already?

wow. after reading this I must say that tmac is a collosal douche for not involving the organization. I do believe he is injured, and that the injury has limited his play. I also believe that mac sullied his relationship with the org permanently by cutting them out of the loop.

    absolutely sh+tty thing to do.

Dude this isn't highschool? This is a professional team that is paying the man over 20+ millions dollars a year. He shouldn't do anything to hurt the team if he signed that fat ass contract. Don't know how old you are but in the real world, in the grown up world, there ways of doing thing the right way and the wrong way.

"Input" is not exactly the correct word.. "APPROVAL" is better.

Trade him to NY for Marbury.

It's been a tumultuous season no doubt with all the uncertainty. But I gotta tell you, it's a relief, albeit bittersweet, as a fan to get some closure on McGrady and knowing the team can move on and make a final push...

    you're reaching now dude.

Stephen A Smith has nothing to do with Tmac not going to the team first about this.

You think wrong. All you need to let the hate aside and take that with maturity and seriously.

You're saying a team can force an injured player to play... because they pay him. Do you read yourself?
