We better get that half of the 23 million next year or Tracy is going to be in serious danger !!!! **** this guy, who the hell does he think he is ????
I bet the people down in Orlando and Magic fans are laughing really hard at us right now :( It's even worse than what he did to Orlando, what he did is unacceptable and I don't ever want to see that jerk again. Please scrap this guy from all the books, forget the 13 points in 35 secs, forget the dunk on Bradley, forget the tripple-double this year, forget the way he helped the Rockets win 22 straight.

This is unforgiveable and to you Tracy:
" This time tears will not make us sympathise with you, you're officially done and don't even deserve the right to put on a Rockets or any team's uniform. You're a disgrace to your family, your wife, your kids and should really do some soulsearching. I feel sorry for you, your family but mainly for us fans, the people who stood by you, the coaches, the Rockets organisation and everybody else who put time and effort into creating the best situation possible for you."

I was happy before and it didn't really bother me but this whole thing about RA not knowing what's up made me realise what a big F U this is from Tracy to the whole Rockets family, all the Houstonians and all the fans. Well F U 2 Tracy !!!!

What kind of drugs are you on to be so dilusional? Tmac doesn't even want to play this season for god sakes. What don't you get? ANd the team nor the coaches will even let him play this season, and I can assure you that fans won't let this go either. He is the most dispicable Rocket of all time.

Tmac is out of this city and the best thing for him to do is move, because I'm sure that many people on the street will tell him what they think of him.

Yuo aren't a Houston Rocket fan. You're a Mcgrady fan that must have started liking the Rockets when he was traded from Orlando.

I hope you go wherever Mcgrady goes after all of this, but don't ever show your face at Reliant Stadium, Minute Maid Park, or dare to even step into the Toyota Center.

If McGrady is gone, I hope he takes all his mentally challenged fans along with him.

I'm referring to those like JKillaD saying they don't believe the reports and all the people saying to 'get off his back and give him a break because he was really hurt'. It's really no excuse for the way he's dealt with this whole season.

He was crying about his damn knee the first day of training camp for God's sake. The day when everyone is supposed to be talking about winning it all, having a good season, etc. And all he's concerned about is putting up a safeguard in case he has a bad season...nothing about the TEAM.

hey my only problem with T-mac is that he has lied to our face multiple times this season in regards to his knee. The guy who said "he worked his tail off during the off season". Then we find out 6 months later that he didn put in work during the offseason. The same guy who as a month ago said his knee is better "im back to my old self" until they lose to crappy teams and then he says "it doesnt feel right". Last week he said he wasnt going to have surgery that it was a last option. He hears his name in a couple of trade rumours and now he has to have surgery. The craziest part about all of this is from day 1 to now every report/dr feedback has said there has been no change at all to his knee. Players get hurt all the time, players struggle thru injuries and rehab all the time, to expect Tmac is any diffrent is crazy, but i think it is a very reasonable expectation for him to show some class and integrity that you would expect from a "franchise player" to be honest and upfront with your franchise and fan base. I think Tmac is great player and can still be an effective player, but the unfortunate part is that next year we probably wont have artest, battier, yao and rafer will be a year older, and he will probably be playing for a contract and not for the sucess of the rockets.

So tragic cause I had such high hopes for this season!

    Rick the Ruler made ESPN!

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3916786

HOUSTON -- Rockets coach Rick Adelman lashed out at Tracy McGrady after practice on Wednesday for not informing the team he will undergo surgery on his left knee. Adelman said he only learned that McGrady was out for the season when he read it in a newspaper in the morning.

"There should be a protocol, there should be a procedure where we have a chance to sit down and talk about the situation and not be announced in the press," Adelman said. "I don't know why that happened, why he did that. Certainly, that is not the way things should be handled."

    Injury Prone

Tracy McGrady has missed 85 games overall since arriving in Houston in 2004, including 34 in 2005-06 and 10 in 2006-07 with back pain, and 12 games last season with a bone bruise and tendinitis in his left knee.
    Tracy McGrady
    Last 4 Seasons
    Games Missed Injury
    2008-09 47 Knee, Ankle
2007-08 16 Elbow, flu, knee, shoulder
    2006-07 11 Back, flu
    2005-06 35 Back

Some of the Rockets said they also found out through the media, but Ron Artest said the news came as no surprise.

"Everybody pretty much knew he was going through some tough times right now in his career," said Artest, who's started the last two games in McGrady's place. "I knew it was pretty severe for him not to be able to practice and play."

The star forward said on his Web site Wednesday that the pain has been persistent and he will have microfracture surgery. He's confident he'll return next season.

McGrady is Houston's third-leading scorer. He had arthroscopic surgery in May and has missed 18 games this season because of his sore knee. He also missed one game with a sprained ankle. He said before the All-Star break he wanted to consult with doctors before deciding on the best course of treatment on his knee.

ESPN.com first reported that McGrady was out for the season after the Rockets beat the Nets on Tuesday night.

Rockets spokesman Nelson Luis said McGrady met with a doctor in New York on Tuesday and had another out-of-state doctor's appointment scheduled Wednesday. McGrady said he would have the surgery "immediately."

"It has been extremely frustrating dealing with the knee injury this season," McGrady said. "It's been tough on me both physically and mentally and while we've come to this conclusion after much deliberation, we truly feel this is best for both me and the Rockets in the long term."

The Rockets have won their last two games without McGrady and 13 of 19 without him this season. Houston is 33-21 overall this season and in fifth place in the Western Conference.

Houston has been coping with injuries all season -- 10 players have missed a total of 113 games. Some players say they're relieved to learn something definitive about McGrady.

"If the reports are true, it gives us certainty," said forward Shane Battier. "We can finally move on. We know who we have, and we don't have to worry about who is coming back from injury."

Last February, Yao Ming broke his left foot and missed the last 26 games of the season. The Rockets ran off 10 consecutive victories after Yao was hurt, and Battier said the Rockets will adapt easier to McGrady's absence than they did to Yao's.

"When Yao went down, that was devastating," Battier said. "Obviously, Tracy is a great player and he's a big part of what we did. But Yao, at the time, was our foundation."

Houston acquired McGrady in June 2004 in a trade with Orlando, but the seven-time All-Star has been a disappointment in five seasons. His scoring numbers have steadily decreased while his health issues have increased.

He's already missed 85 games overall since arriving, including 34 in 2005-06 and 10 in 2006-07 with back pain, and 12 games last season with a bone bruise and tendinitis in his left knee.

McGrady said on the day before training camp began in late September that his knee was not healed from the surgery and was still painful. By December, McGrady was skipping the second games of back-to-back sets and took two weeks off in January to rest his knee. He returned and played seven games, then stopped playing after a loss to Milwaukee on Feb. 9.

Two days later, McGrady said he was going to seek doctors to discuss his knee, but expected to play again this season. He added that he would only consider surgery as a last resort.

"We've tried just playing through it, taking back-to-backs off, and extended periods of rest," McGrady wrote. "But none of it has really been effective in limiting the discomfort and allowing me to just go out there and play."

McGrady was averaging 15.6 points and 4.4 rebounds per game this season, well below his career averages, and was shooting a career-low 38.8 percent from the field.

Houston is 33-52 in games McGrady has missed since 2004.

"You get paid to coach the people you have," Adelman said. "My choice is to have Tracy McGrady healthy and the player we knew. That gives us a much better chance to win games."

McGrady is due to make $23 million next season, the last year of his contract.

Team owner Les Alexander said before Tuesday's game that the Rockets would not try to deal McGrady before Thursday's trade deadline. Alexander also said he still believes the 29-year-old McGrady is a key component to making the Rockets contenders again.

"I always thought he was injured and had [health] problems," Alexander said. "He's a great player when he's healthy, and a great competitor."

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

    YES! It was.

I'm just saying since I first started watching the Rockets (during Moses' days), or any sports for that matter, that I've NEVER EVER wanted anybody off the team.

Now I do...and that is whats sad.

I rely hope that Les is just saying that to seem professional...I really hope our Owner doesn't believe that Tmac can make any team a contender.

I hope he's just bluffing doing that thing all owners do "We are not trading him." even though they plan.

I mean...Les has to have Tmac as expendable...he has to realize the Tmac era is OVER...it's DONE WITH. Tmac's history implies he will be unable to come back from microfracture surgery.

adelman had obviously not talked to mcgrady. i wonder if morey or anyone of the team has.

if not, this really reminds me the bonzi situation when he left a message and just left the team.

did anyone remember or know if we actually paid bonzi after he left the team on his own that year?
