"Why is it that everytime I turn on the radio, I hear the same 5 songs 15 times a day for 3 months?" "Man, FUUUUUUUUUNK DAT!!!"
Houston desperately needs an FM station like Austin's KGSR. There...I said it....now which one of you knows about venture capital and starting a new FM radio station?
Satellite has a limited playlist too. There's more stations and no commericals but if you go on a long drive and keep it on one channel you'll hear the same song at least 1 time an hour.
Wait? You mean there is GOOD Rap? Or are you talking about square dancing the original rap. "Grab your partner doe see doe !!!" DD
I came across the Tupac move Ressurection on the MusicHD channel the other day and because I have an HDTV I had to watch it. While I wasn't a big fan of his, I did like a couple of his songs. After watching it I realized just how bad rap music is today. I mean, it's BAD, with few exceptions. But the kids keep buying it I guess. Btw, did anyone else see that the Sugar Hill Gang is coming to H-town?
i cant stand hip hop radio. between the same songs (and not even good ones half the time) being recycled all day, horrible djs and r****ded callers ...i want to shank myself. and i really cant stand a lot of the newer rap. I know im not getting that old b/c i still love a good rap song but not the mtv rap thats shovelled on us.
"Rock yo Hips" by Crime Mob shouldn't be played on the radio. I don't want little kids hearing the lyrics: "god damn lil buddy take off your clothes and let me see that apple bottom and that brown booty hole shawty slide up and down on dat pole in the v.i.p thats how it mother f***in go" They edit out the curse words on the radio, but you can still tell exactly what they're saying.
Not just radio, music videos these days... <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2L0Pu5L5rMw"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2L0Pu5L5rMw" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I agree thats whats wrong with music now in days. ever since middle school or earlier kids listen to this crap
Thank you baby Jesus: BitTorrent + iPod + $5 aux cable + built in aux jack on my new Civic. ___________________________ No more radio.
There's a few decent rap songs out right now that they play up here. I don't know why the don't play them in Houston. (Maybe you guys need Perry Broadcasting instead of ClearChannel) Currently, I'm not completely sick of: "Do it Better" Keith Murray "Hip Hop Police" Chamillionaire & Slick Rick "9mm" David Banner, Akon, Lil Wayne "The People" Common "Big thangs Poppin" T.I. "Coffee Shop" Yung Joc "Almost Made Ya" Ali&Gipp ft. Letoya "Beautiful Girls" Sean Kingston
I call BS on that sir. There is good rap, rock, metal, country, whatever out there if you actually make an effort to listen to something new and not the crap that is shovelled to you on pop radio.
I cant stand the rap these days, and Im always looking for a new beat or whatever to like, but nothing is out there besides the same stuff. Its terrible. but... a couple months back I happened to stumble across a rap group, while looking for some rap/rock combination. They are called Swollen Members and I love them. I dont think I have actaully bought a rap cd, ever, before their last. I believe they have 5 cds but really their last 2/3 are the best. They are a bit different but I havnt enjoyed rap like this in a looooong time. Check them out... I seriously believe that would be making a splash (even on the radio) if more people outside Cananda knew about them.
There are still artists today, a lot underground, but some like Nas, Common, Talib Kweli, Mos Def. Their songs aren't completely horrible.
Some samples for those that don't know. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2PAtTUZThYs"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2PAtTUZThYs" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nUyrUFCH-Mc"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nUyrUFCH-Mc" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/wWvWFjvLxzw"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/wWvWFjvLxzw" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-eC3NYs6_2o"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-eC3NYs6_2o" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/U4uOMrhQSW4"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/U4uOMrhQSW4" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/47ssb8UAXrY"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/47ssb8UAXrY" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
