I echo that sentiment. If Ron really is a health nut though I'm not really sure where to send him. Ziggy's grill? Haha. Otto's has good bbq too. For more expensive stuff, I think Tony's and Cafe Annie are good.
I can't believe no one mentioned the Melting Pot yet! Probably the best restaurant in the Houston area. I used to work there and I saw Battier come in to eat serveral times. I saw Stromile Switft there once when he was a Rocket. I also saw a couple of the Comets players there.
California is more known for the organic selection of stores and restaurants which ofcourse Ron would know. Guess he will have to stick with Central Market and Whole Foods until Houston get with the program. Maybe I will see him shopping since my wife is a organic nut (meh that stuff gets expensive imo)
First of all, ever since Frenchy's was bought out by Aaron Glen, the chicken pieces suddenly got smaller and the prices higher! If RonRon ever eats at Timmy Chan's, he going to have the poo poos for a couple of days. Ever since Marvin Zindler kicked the bucket, that place is a safe haven for rats and roaches and of course......slime in the ice machine!
Dude, I've lived in Houston all my life and I haven't been to some of those restaurants. Is that sad? Anyways, you should play to Houston's unique strengths: you probably can't win Artest with Deli's and Pizza places. Anybody know any good TexMex or Barbeque/Mesquite?
how's it ironic? Ron Artest isn't a newb or didn't come from overseas. Dude's been in Htown many times. He's not Balkie from Perfect Strangers.
Best Mexican restaurant in Houston: El Palenque! Every time I set foot w/in Harris County, I'm visiting El Palenque! I've said it many times about Dallas food vs Houston food: - It's hard to find a good restaurant in Dallas & it's hard to find a bad restaurant in Houston (chains excluded).
