Anoter thing about Moore is he's in his 11th year. This is probably his last contract in the NBA, last chance to land a big contract. If he does get the above, ie a long term MLE contract. Would the motivation remain on if he's on a team where he isn't the only frontcourt presence but playing a grunt role instead?
Exactly Jason Kidd could make my grandma look like a potential 1st round pick. Anyone remember Kenyon Martin? He is making 8 figure salary thanks to Kidd.
If this were a perfect world, I'd forget about Mikki Moore and McDyess because they are really old. I'd be looking at a PF who could be with us for years. That means someone who's been in the league less than 5 years. Now who fits that bill and is tradeable.
BTW Collison is up and coming and he's a 2nd year player who averages 8.9 rebounds a game. He'd be helpful. NO to Troy Murphy
If the Frye deal is true, I'd take Frye and QRich in a heartbeat for whatever they want outside of 111, Battier, and VSpan. QRich would be a player that we could use to play alongside McGrady and Battier at the 2,3,4 spots and spread the floor really good for Yao and a penetrating point guard. I'm actually not all that big on Frye. I think he is overrated. But he could possibly be a rotation player and a long term solution at backup center. I'd be surprised if he really made a career at the 4. Don't think he's athletic enough, quick enough, and his offensive game is all 5-16 foot jumpers, no 3 point shot, and not strong enough to play in the low block. If the Knicks take Juwan, Snyder, and Head, I do this deal. On another note, I really am intrigued by Amir Johnson, especially if we wind up with another coach. JVG makes acquiring any young player iffy. Sorry, he just doesn't play young players.........unless the first 6 rotation players are injured. I also hope we can move Juwan and sign someone like PJ Brown for league minimum or the LLE.
Too bad we can't get Haywood. It's virtually a nil chance based on his salry. As expected, Brendan Haywood has asked the Washington Wizards to deal him, according to multiple Washington Times team sources. "He pretty much said that the relationship between himself and (coach) Eddie (Jordan) had gotten to the point where he didn't want to be in Washington anymore because he doesn't feel that he'll be treated fairly," the league source said. This can't be a surprise. Haywood has had consistent run-ins with Etan Thomas, his main competitor for the center job. Sources say that GM Ernie Grunfeld will do his best to accomodate Haywood, but in any deal he wants to get a big man that's just as valuable. Also, with three years and $16.5 million left on Haywood's contract, finding a buyer might not be easy.
Sheldon Williams could be attainable. You can always make a deal and the Hawks suck. They are going to be looking for help especially at the shooting guard and point guard position. Something we got plenty of. Besides, Sheldon is number 2 on the depth chart. Putting up the numbers that he did in the last four games does not make Sheldon a superstar. He might someday be very good but look here is the guy's overall season stats. I think he's going to be very good and he's young. The Hawks suck so I'm betting they are willing to deal for the right players. Sheldon Williams Overall Season Stats PPG 5.5 | RPG 5.4 | BPG 0.5
