    how about eddie najera. can opt out of his contract. made like $6-7 million last year or something? he wont provide alot of scoring, but he's a bigger chuck hayes, and we could use some size. he does alot of little things, just like battier and hayes.

    im sure drew gooden could be had for a luther head package+future 1st.

    All the PF's mentioned so far are untouchable or not up to the task.I believe we need an athletic PF that can block shots rebound,and provide interior defense.Whether this guy is a role player or starter material is a question too.We have to be realistic.Unless the Rockets can pull a big deal, we might have to go with a PJ Brown type or someone slightly younger, a guy who can step in and give us what we need now while sharing time..With Adelman most lkely coming,I'd say we augment what we have. with the exception being if we could put Howard into a deal. I know a lot of people want a jumpsooting 4.But having a guy to perform the aforementioned duties around the hoop though gives Yao more energy for doing what he does best..for a full game And of course compliments him in many ways.So basically improve overrall athleticism,including the 4.

    Antonio Davis of 5 years ago woud be perfect in the mix there.

    The one guy mentioned that I'd like to comment on is Magliore.I know he's a 4/5,but
    While not incredibly athletic,I love his game.Again though JM is probablly to expensive.

    The whole KG - T Mac deal REALLY intrigues me.I just don't see Minny being interested.

    Najera = Ryan Bowen.
    Drew = Mr. Softie.

    I thought this thread was supposed to be about realistic PF's

    Moore has been playing so well he might be above the mid level exception (though he shouldn't) AND he is too thin to stop a Boozer like player.

    Najera is another Chuck Hayes and we already have one.

    The others are just pipe dreams.

    and KMART???? The guy has had microfracture surgery on both knees, barely has any cartilage in either of them (it doesn't just grow back) and his contract would handicap this team for 3 more years

    Don't know what we are going to do

    Perosnally I think Jeff Foster would be a great fit for our team. He's one of the best interior defenders in the league but wont be a completely liability against guys with mid range game. COnsidering that Indiana is probably rebuilding, I think he oculd be had on the cheap.

    We can always sign a Collins type player to match up with Boozer for defense, but Moore is pretty useful for the rest of the league, and the fact that New Jersey has their money tied up re-signing Carter, might be in our favor.

    Jeff Foster is a center. He's not athletic enough to help when opposing teams go small. (I did want him as back up center when I thought he was available, though.)

    Jamal Magloire - PF/Center who is under the radar right now and he can rebound , block shots and play good defense. He is big enough guard the Duncans and Amares of the league yet fast athletic enough to fisnish above the rim. Give him the MLE and he could be the steal of the summer.

    Interesting, as is Foster, both of them fill a need of a tough physical player on the block to help Yao......

    Going back to the thread subject, how about Radman. Someone mentioned his name in another thread. We could probably trade him for Howard, and if Adelman is our new coach...he could work with him (Peja, Hedo)!

    radman is a big no, imo. he got his contract and disappeared.

    the way i see it is the rockets will have to completely luck out in the draft to get a solid PF. that or morey will have to work some magic in trades.

    WEBBER- Too Old would not bea great fit near the basket to compliment Yao Ming IMHO
    WALKER- Wrong type of Power Forward and too inconsistant IMHO
    Murphy- a Possibilty but not in my firsty three choices
    McDyce wrong type of Forward to compliment Yao Ming
    May has possibilities- but a bit too short!
    Channing Frye is my first choice!

    I really don't get why people have a thing for Magloire.

    He is in no way a pf. And he stinks offensively. Really bad.

    The only real positive out of him is his rebounding, but we have Hayes for that. His size would be a plus if he weren't such a stiff.

    If Yao is someone we are building around, then Magloire isn't a piece of the puzzle, esp for the full MLE.

    What a great idea! Let's tank the season less than 15 games into it for an inknown commodity! Not smart.
