OP, you need to grow up. $50.00 per month until U-Verse gets CSN is ridiculous and you should have known better. Whoever said this should be fired, but don't blast U-Verse for the dumb mistake of this employee. They aren't obligated to make good on it.

Just switch from U-Verse or suck it up and deal with it. If you think Comcast would treat you better, give them a try. From my experience, Comcast is garbage and I would never go back to them. Good riddance.

As a former Uverse subscriber, I can make 2 observations here.

    1. Their product is great.
    2. Their service sucks @ss.

That sucks. I was promised and delivered about a $40/month credit for 12 months.

I'm with U-Verse, I'm as frustrated as everyone else regarding the CSN nightmare, but I find it weak that so many folks feel entitled to compensation from U-Verse/Dish/Direct TV over it.

CSN f'ed you over. So did the Rockets. They're hardballing the other providers with extortion carrier fees.

It's not like the providers dropped a channel you used to pay for, like the FOX or AMC disputes. It makes as much sense as my demanding U-Verse compensate me for not carrying the ticket.

Hopefully this gets taken care of once the Disastros start up in April, but we'll see.

I wasn't entitled to anything...but I called and threatened to move my business and was happy to take up on their offer to keep me. They're big boys.

The frustration from the OP wasn't about entitlement...it was about a representative making an offer that they ultimately couldn't deliver on. That's pretty crappy.

Hm. U-Verse gave me $75 off each month's bill when I threatened to cancel. Of course I was beyond the contract obligations at that time, so their bargain was to put me back under contract in return for the $75 off each month.

This was right before the season started, thinking, hey, they will get their **** straight soon and I will be watching the Rox AND enjoying $75 off each month.

    Well, NO.

Basically, there's nothing you can do about it without consideration from AT&T.

if you are so adamant about it and have it in writing take them to small claims court.

It costs around $100 depending on where you live. Sue them for the amount they owe you, plus the cost of a buyout and any other fees including the $100 filing fee. I believe the limit is $5000 so you should be well under that amount.

Worst case you lose a day of your time and $100 filing fee.

Best case you get the amount you were damaged, plus the cost of the amount to buyout your contract. Another good thing about this is the bad publicity associated with this comcast debacle. It's a matter of principle and you can be a martyr for all the rockets fans that are fighting through this.

You aren't going to be able to 'make' money on this but it could be enough to get you out of the service and get you back what was promised. AND SEND A MESSAGE. Do something about it.

I like the small claims court filing idea. You could also ask for your contract to be terminated without fees. Then just go to Comcast or whoever. If they don't want to honor their promises, why should they hold you to yours?
