ATI launches the Radeon x1900 + Intel/AMD Dual-Core comparisons

    Yeah, I got my PCI-E board and card (6600 GT) back in December 2004.

    Trying to keep up video card wise is futile, unless you have incredibly deep pockets. A few years back with the Voodoo accelerators, I was really trying hard to keep my system in the best gaming shape as possible. It's funny that 7800 is about to be replaced again. The cycles are just too short.

    My best idea would be buy top of the line, once every four or five years. That way, you'll have the very best right off, still potent the next year, can still handle everything at a good resolution the next year, things are starting to run slower, but still cool at lower resolutions, next year replace.

    This is why I have gone exclusively console now, too much money and time.

    No. Typically the 2nd card interfaces with the other via the PCI bridge. Card #1 utilizes the GPU power from the 2nd board. So you can still do multi-monitor, but not tri-monitor.
