I was thinking about those commercials
    [gatorade maybe?]
It has like Mike Vick and Brian Urlacher playing Hockey.

I was thinking. Which Athletes do you think could excel at other sports.
    i.e. Hakeem and Soccer
I know Randy Moss use to play college basketball with Jason Williams
Would Charlie Ward have been a better QB in the NFL than a PG in the NBA?

Just wondering . . .charge it to summer boredom.

I think Ward himself said that he didn't have the skill set to be a successful QB in the NFL. I'm almost certain I heard it in an interview he once gave.

There are a bunch of natural athletes in multiple sports that would probably be at least partially successful in other arenas. Kobe and Lebron come to mind, but I would add guys like Albert Pujols and Cristiano Ronaldo. Given time and training, I think any of these guys could excel in just about any sport.

If he could catch, Usain Bolt could play receiver.

    Charlie freakin Ward...

He got drafted by an MLB team... had a chance to go to the NFL and played in the NBA. What a talent.

I guess Iverson the NFL is the obvious answer, though they probably would have switched him to receiver or safety in the pros. Despite his HOF career I keep thinking this guy wasted his talent, only because he had so damn much of it.

I wonder if a young Charles Barkley could have been a linebacker or tight end.

He and Kelvin Cato could have run a hedge fund or sold CDS's to Orange County.

I bet just about any half-decent NFL quarterback or DB could play baseball, and any o-lineman would be a terrific sumo wrestler.

let me guess you are a female. and you were a fierce competitor in volleyball. its not a real sport, can you even break a sweat playing it? i guess maybe if you are at the beach and its hot outside in the sun, but then again you could sweat just standing there.

kidding volleyball is fun esp: in the water

Unless they excelled at baseball growing up, there's absolutely no way. MAYBE some quarterbacks could make it as a mop up relief pitcher or something.

Edited to add: Consider the fact that Michael Jordan the baseball player had no power, didn't hit for average, struck out a ton, was a low-percentage base stealer, and was a terrible outfielder. In AA ball.

An NFL o-lineman would dominate sumo wrestling right?

Any track star if he can catch the ball at a decent rate could excel as a wide receiver.

If we count any events they show on ESPN, the Shane would be great at chess.
