man!! i really wish you hadn't have posted that, cause now I'm starting to feel the same way...a championship with steve and cat and Kelvin would be so glorious after watching them grow all of these years
Don't you think that it's ironic and strange that every Houston Icon in all three sports wore the same #?Hakeem, Nolan, and Earl. Weird.
I would like to know the policy. More importantly, Dr. Laura would very much like to understand the policy. She used to come by and use my computer to post advice to people here, very valuable advice I might add, but we were warned to not let her use my computer anymore.
Lets look at the bright side. From now on, no rocket will ever call a ref 'r****ded' to the media. Also, a rocket will never say 'BS' on national TV. If anything, this move will help us finally get some respect from the officials.
if you have that witch hanging at your place....you have far greater concerns than if she is using your computer and what nick she is doing it under...
that remains to be seen but yes. . .i felt this way at those traded hell . . i still lament the Kenny Thomas Trade Rocket River
When? After T-Mac and Yao force a change in head coach? JVG can't coach an offense out of a paper bag.
Yes, but winning sure cures any heart ache! Don't believe me? Try going 10 more years of losing...yuk.
Davo, if it cheapens the experience for you, maybe you should have the Astros as your favorite pro sports team. The Astros are more loyal to their players than the Rockets are. Of course, the Astros have no championships and not a single playoff series win (and yet Bagwell and Biggio are still on the team), while the Rockets have 2 championships and are on the rise again to win a 3rd after this trade. Loyalty, for the most part, hurts sports franchises more than helps them. Rockets care only about winning, thus they are willing to make trades with their best, longest tenured players in order to get better.
I'm not upset at all. I was upset to lose people like Sam Cassel, Robert Horry, Otis Thorpe and Mario Elle
First, totally agreed with Hippieloser. We didn't dump anyone. It takes value to get value and getting McGrady was very important for the team. Second, I understand the feeling, but I would hope, with the exception of a few, that it is THE TEAM we follow, not the players. Players come and go. Nolan Ryan wasn't the Astros. Earl Campbell wasn't the Oilers. Hakeem Olajuwon wasn't the Rockets. They were players that played for those teams, but they did not constitute the franchise. Maybe it's because I started watching them in 1978. I've been through three different centers, two who WILL end up in the hall of fame and one who COULD. I've been through point guards including John Lucas, Kenny Smith, Sam Cassell, Matt Maloney and Steve Francis. I've been through Calvin Murphy and Mitchell Wiggins and Vernon Maxwell and Robert Horry and Clyde Drexler and Billy Paultz and Dave Jamerson and Matt Bullard and Mario Elie and on and on and on. I've learned not to hitch my wagon to a player or a coach but to a franchise...for better or worse.
