The armed forces can count me in if this brute even lays a finger on the Empire State Building.

Hey, I think he would though he may not have been in one of the major branches of the military, he did serve (unlike another recent president).

Did you talk the same **** about his Father who was a recognized WWII distinguished aviator?

The man, who two years after graduating from HS he enlisted as a seaman, one year later had completed his and was the youngest Naval Aviator for a long time during WWII.

The man that during a bombing run just prior to dropping his bombs, was his by Japanese anti-aircraft fire. Instead of bailing out, he continued on and dropped all of his bombs before turning back to the ship when the plane exploded and he parachuted out. The man who received the Distinguished Flying Cross for what he did.

    Did you question that Bush?

I think that would be a great thing for this country, and could help this country out in so many ways.

The man who disagrees with how Bush is handling the current situation, questions the justfication for war relative to the Gulf War, and has 'serious' concerns about what Bush is doing to our place in the international community.

Well, I did mean socialism. But probably communism would have been much better to use, though I hesitate to use that, because one time someone accused me of being a "Reaganite" or something like that, which derailed the thread.

communism is sort of like the electoral college.
It works as long as no people are involved.

I'm just moving this to the France/German con game thread, as it seems more relevant there.

I was raised an Army brat, so although I didn't serve, I grew up around the service. I would go and fight whereever if drafted, and probably enlist at any point I thought we needed the manpower.

When the sons and daughters of congressman and the President are required to serve, I would go. It's a hell of a lot easier for them to commit someone else's children to this when their own are safe and sound back here. I almost went into service after high school but after investigating the way our army was used I changed my mind. One can only follow orders after making the commitment to serve. If we could go back in time I would go for WW2 and the Civil War as wars worth volunteering for.
