    i would be guttered if he didn't resign with us.

    Do we ave the capspace next yr to match eralistic offers with other teams?

    my understanding is that we have Bird rights for him and can match any offer, even if it puts us over the cap. However, this requires that we wait for another team to sign him so that we can match it (same thing we did with C. Landry). At the present time, we cannot offer him a contract that puts us over the cap. Thus, nothing will get done until after the season is over.
