Serious question: What do you think AD's ceiling is and why?

I love AD and want him to be great as much as anyone, but he won't be an MVP candidate this year. Dwight almost certainly will be if healthy.

    Agreed.

Just like the good stable of PGs over the years, we're now seeing developing big men.

Davis, Drummond, Sanders, Cousins, Monroe, Olynyk (future), and Kanter are all going to be really good.

I don't see anything special in Anthony Davis. Howard had that otherworldly athleticism.

I am a huge fan of Davis, so I would take him for sure. I'm not sure I would take anyone outside of LeBron and Durant over him. He will probably put up 20 and 10 with a couple of blocks this season, and he's only going to get better.

If AD reaches his potential, AD obviously. He has both the offensive and defensive tools to be a beast on both ends. It's just a matter of him staying healthy and continue to improve.

Dwight has maxed out as a player. I have not seen one ounce of improvement from him since the 09 season. But he's a safer bet in the short term if you're a contender.

If you are talking about "At This Stage of Their Careers" then who cares about age and potential because it's all irelevant. AD might end up being better but at this stage of their careers it's really not a question. Dwight is better at this stage of their careers so to answer your question.... yes you are absolutely crazy for choosing AD.

I think it is close to Kevin Garnett level. Davis has ridiculous quickness for his size. He's got ridiculous length. And offensively he's already got the inside - out game. With a good coach he can get to Dwight level of dominance defensively in maybe two years. Offensively, his skillset is already better than Dwight's. He doesn't really have a great team to help him show off his pick and pop game. He's got good handle and off the dribble moves too.

He's just so fluid at his size and can combine that with touch and raw power. It's extremely rare.

I just can't believe this statement.

the pelis wouldn't accept asik, lin, AND parsons for Davis. Heck, i honestly doubt they would even take Howard for Davis, just because of the enormous potential Davis has. He and Drummond are going to be top 5 centers in the league very soon - in fact, as early as the end of this year.

And I believe this roster : Lin Harden Parsons Davis Asik
is way better than : Lin Harden Parsons Howard Asik

Davis/Asik would be a GREAT front court, and easily one of, if not the best front court in the league.

I don't see why you've had the need to compare Grizzlies players with star players like Chris Paul or Kevin Durant. Stupidest threads I have ever read

I'll take Howard. 95% of the time "if he reaches his potential guy" doesn't reach his potential.

Yeah but Anthony Davis is a type of prospect like Kevin Durant not Anthony Randolph.

I still have a feeling Anthony Davis is injury-prone. We shall see but that's the only concern I have with him.

My question for those. I will bring this back on topic for everyone.

    Prime KG or prime Howard?

All I have to say is "WHAT?" Of course you take Howard. It is not even close. Even if you are NO you take Howard. Howard when healthy and happy can be mentioned in the same sentence as LBJ and KD. And he is only 27. Will Davis ever reach those heights? I do not know but it is highly unlikely.

I think Anthony Davis will be equivalent to KG in his prime. I then ask the question who would you rather have between Howard and KG? I think you still take Howard.

Howard changes the whole game. His impact might not show up on his already filled stat sheet.
