I think it was just poor phrasing on CWebb's part, but I laughed last night when he said "this will be LeBron's most unusual championship" or something like that. Slow down, CWebb, it is only game 1 of the first round.

... But if the Lakers end up winning this series, how much of that remains true?

Though I suppose LeBron and some surrounding talent alone could will them to a win here despite some poor play. Something that will hopefully be less true against the Rockets.

For sure, outside of Lebron and AD, the rest of the Lakers look like a rec team at your local sports club. Blazers is a whole different animal. We can try and neutralize their size by going small but I might get heart palpitations if Dame and CJ start popping off down the stretch.

It's hard to choose between the two teams.

Do you want to get in a shootout with the Blazers? A 7 game series could go either way.

The Lakers still have Lebron, so you never know how the refs will call the games. Will the NBA try to push for an LA vs. LA matchup in the WCF?

So is CF now moving from being afraid of OKC to being afraid of Portland? It’s hard to keep up.

a lot of y’all scare quite easily

At this point, we need to beat OKC 3 more times.

    WTF.

The Blazers are one of the few teams that can hang with us offensively, so I'd absolutely say we match up better with the Lakers. With that being said, if the Rockets continue to stay locked in like they were yesterday on both sides of the court, there really isn't a team out there that you can definitively say is better than us. I say let the chips fall where they may, and bring it on.

Yes, Lakers are easier out for the Rockets.

But, I’m for taking on the Blazers head on. My feelings are 1) the Blazers are tougher as 1st round opponent
with weak showings in the second round to WCF’s. Fake toughness is tougher for them to take
from one opponent to the next at the playoff level....from round to round. Not the best at adapting series to series.

    2) Use Jordan rules on Lillard/McCullum......knock them down every chance you get (not so hard, not so obvious,
    mostly as hustle looking)

    3) Don’t take them lightly. I feel the Rockets players don’t take them serious when we play them in recent years.
Take Melo serious.....I was one of the few here that felt Melo could be productive here with the Rockets if
you feed him about 7 to 8 post ups to get a feel for the game (pulse). Westbrook might be allowed that many.
If I’m not mistaken Melo was about 78% success in ppp with his 3 to 4 post ups per game as a Rocket.

    4) out run their “Bigs” up and down the court to get the numbers before they set up their defense......get
open 3’s. Let’s run our small’s with their small’s by forcing the issue. They are not as deep/talented as us with
    Small-Ball talent/success.

This is a loaded question with no right answer.

Rockets always play like trash against the Blazers.

Rockets always get screwed by the refs against the Lakers.

Well we can't play the losers, can we? So, no matter who wins, we'll face a tough opponent.

I dont mind, have wanted a shot at both Lebron and Lillard for a while now. Would be more fun to be the team that beats the Lakers.

I disagree..the playoffs are cumulative, which is why im pretty sure blazers won't beat the lakers anyways. This is important clutchfans. Pay attention to what i say....

Blazers will run out gass no matter how good they are. They have been playing high intensity basketball since landing in the bubble...every other night that hard....bad things are bound to happen. Im just going by what sports have shown us since they have existed.

If a big if they get to the 2nd roumd they will be beat the hell up.
