AT&T U-Verse vs DirecTV

I got pissed off at DirecTV for charging me the NHL Center Ice package when I told them months ago to cancel the auto reup but the guy didn't do it and now they won't cancel the package and/or refund me the fees because the season has already begun. Tried to reasons with them but no luck so I am thinking about going to U-Verse since I've heard good things about them. I know the obivous negative is no NFL Sunday Ticket but the Redzone Channel should make up for it and I didn't even get Sunday Ticket this year.

So which service is better in programming, HD Quality and overall service?
