According to the detail, Chandler's and Peja's contracts run for one more year, just like Tracy's and the numbers are close. Their injury-prone players are on the floor come the start of next season while ours is not... and we get Chris Paul! Very unlikely but fun.
OMG!!!!! back at you! Youre fired! TMac is done let it go. If we could some how pull Paul for him it would be the best trade Morey ever made.
OMG... CP and Lowry at the point. Ariza, Battier, Peja for 2 and 3 Yao, Chandler, Scola and Chuck, plus Anderson for the bigs..... that's not only better.... and yao can actually play less than 30 minutes per game untill playoff time.
I read that Chandler is done. I wouldn't turn down any deal with a franchise player like Chris Paul coming to us, but I think you have to make this deal assuming that Chandler can only handle backup minutes at most. Not a deal-breaker necessarily, but something to think about.
trade brent barry to a contender for a future 2nd round pick brent will never sniff the playoffs here in Houston next year and so to honour our respect to him we ship him off to a contender and get back a second rounder thats probably going to be in the 50's. Clears up a roster spot and saves us salary and gets Brent a ring. But guess another Barry won't get to retire in Houston.
Brooks + Battier for Rubio. presuming Minnesota cant negotiate a buyout with the Spanish team And Morey can handle the negotiations with the Spanish team.
THANK YOU!!!! That is EXACTLY what I was thinking! Who cares what you take back. It's not like this deal is full of garbage players! These are legit NBA players who have had more success than our current roster but are contractual nightmares in the short run. If someone were actually able to pry Chris Paul away from New Orleans the whole F'in league would come unglued wondering how they didn't know that was going to happen and what they could have offered better. Chris Paul is the equivalent of LeBron James in a Point Guards body, he is the rarest breed of player. He can do everything on the court and is a powerhouse when he does it. I figured when I wrote up that trade that people would criticize it for not seeming plausible not for being a bad trade. Oh well, to each his own.
Here's the truth to how the Chris Paul rumor got spun out of control. The media are so freakin' stupid! There's actually no "Fact" to it. Wish I had known that before I posted it as one. Article: Chris Paul Being Traded? "OK - this is how it went down. Chris Paul was here in Las Vegas to watch his summer league team play, but wanted to leave immediately afterwards without getting caught up in the mass of fans and media who wanted to talk to him, get an autograph, etc. He blew off NBA TV, talked to us briefly about his team - off the record - and then headed for the door. As Chris fought his way through the throng the reporter in question gave chase, asking questions about the Hornets' financial situation and whether or not Chris thought he would be traded. Chris looked over his shoulder and gave the "NBA is a business" answer you've all seen quoted now. The reporter pressed, asking is Chris thought he, specifically, could be traded. "In this league, anything can happen. I can be dealt. It's possible. It's possible.'' Does that sound to you like Chris Paul saying he thinks he's going to be traded? No, it didn't sound that way to me, either. I rolled my eyes and kept working my way towards whoever we were about to shoot video with. It was a non-story . . .or should have been. Instead of letting it be the non-story, the reporter in question spun it up as Chris saying he was going to be traded. Thankfully, the New Orleans Times-Picayune cleared it up quickly. "There is no chance of him getting traded,'' Hornets President Hugh Weber said sternly. "I don't know how to say it any stronger, but there is just no deal we would contemplate for Chris. I can't speak for Chris, but I think he was talking about the nature of the business and the fact that the question was asked the way it was.'' Yes. That's exactly how it went down. Chris was asked a nonsense question and gave it his absolute best attempt at a blow-off answer. And you wonder why he didn't want to talk to the media . . ."
Some of these trade proposals is just mind bobbling that anyone thinks they have a chance of happening.
It'd never happen... but i'd tatoo Moreys face on my butt if it did! LOL Even more amused that some people wanna rag on the scenario... some people just like to argue.
imminent Pronunciation: \ˈi-mə-nənt\ : ready to take place ; especially : hanging threateningly over one's head As in "Chris Paul to Houston is not imminent".
