Lol, it's funny because it's true. Still, after the near-riot at the draft party last year, I don't know if they are eager to repeat that experience. These rumors about acquiring an additional second rounder or trading Head do seem to point to trading up, and obviously last year they wanted to move up to draft Roy.
I'm guessing that the Rockets might take a wild card like Fesenko and try to trade him along with Head for Cook and the 19th pick to take McRoberts,Smith,or Splitter.
Gater nailed my first hunch. But since that was not on the list and I'm feeling hopeful, I went with move up and lose a player (Cook/Head and swap 1sts). Then I think we will be parading out PF by committee of Cook, Hayes, Reed and a rookie PF.
Well, his name is no chance so maybe there is no chance it'll happen. If we bring swift back we will get another 7 years of bad luck, read it up on NBA superstitions.
... And maybe this time, we'll actually get around to placing that scathing ad in the Chronicle, damnit.
last year i was happily surprised when we landed Gay, and then shocked and heartbroken when we traded for Shane. At the end of the day, I was content. I just didnt like the initial shock. I was very angry like the rest of the board.
I for one am not a Morey fan yet...but being disingenuous is a valuable trait for a GM. You lose all leverage in any moves he plans on making by not saying that they willdraft the BPA. I'm hoping they are smoke screens!
I have no problem if packaging the BPA + a player or players can get us someone really good in the draft.Every rookie takes time especially the lower picks. Throwing away a chance to develop someone by saying it's going to be 3 years before they can contribute is a shortsighted policy. This could be a smokescreen like you said.Let's see what happens.
