Oh man, the King Kong at the end of the River ride used to scare me to death when I was a kid.

Then one year when I was in high school we went and it was gone and it made me sad.

I worked at Astroworld during the early nineties. No better place for a teenage boy to work during the summer.;)

You guys know I'm a Houston homer...a 4th generation Houstonian...there is little about Houston I don't defend. But everytime I go to Astroworld, I wish I lived in Florida.

Excalibur was so rickety, I thought it was going to fall apart any second. XLR-8 was pretty fun and unique. I don't have a very strong stomach, so I always stayed away from the Sky Screamer. The Viper, Greezed Lightning, and Batman rides were pretty cool, not to mention the Cyclone. I always got nervous before the Ultra Twister for some reason.

As long as we're at it, how about Wee Wild West?

Peppermint park ROCKED!!! I loved that stupid ride that whipped you around at the turns. I believe it was called the whip.

I worked at Astroworld in 1987 in the Enchanted Kingdom. It sucked! There were never any good looking girls in there!
