I did too, for several years now. I call it the "Middle Party" and it doesn't even have to run candidates the way I see it. The people in the middle, which is by far the VAST majority of us, could run this country without the Dems or GOP if we simply banded together and brought back reasoned, productive debate sans "death panels," "socialism," or referring to any political leader as Hitler-like. Email me, we can talk...
you're right, college has skewed your viewpoint. but I guess that's a good example, any clear indication that was the "left"
I don't think republicanos over the age of 40 can handle astroturf without suffering a career ending injury.
I didn't automatically place you there - you placed yourself there by attending tea parties and consistently being upset about the new administration's direction. Furthermore, you really placed yourself there by continually deflecting any post that pointed out the brazen hypocrisy of the groups involved realtive to the last eight years.
So annoying as it might be, is anyone actually trying to argue they don't have the right to do such things? If not, what the hell is the point of this thread? Who can be more annoying?
The point of this thread is that there isn't one. That's the norm for basso. It's been shown that a lot of the shouting down, rude behavior, had been coming from opponents of Obama. basso couldn't stand to have it seen that it only comes from his side. So he tries to just muddy everyone, so he doesn't look so bad. And rather than put this in one of the threads already started, basso has the habit of starting needless brand new threads.

Could you be a little more broad sweeping? Some of the more conservative people that I know have said things like this to me... "I know that the current system is broken. I have heard bad things about this plan, but I know that the people saying that have an agenda. I need to find a place where I can learn all of the things that are in the bill so I could know for sure how I feel about it." These are the conservative people I know. As I have said many times on this BBS, I think that the biggest problem with the GOP is the schism between the rank and file and those in Congress.
Good try. Any attempt at compromise is met by rejection by the insurance company and their GOP politicians and their attendant astrorturfers.
Just wait until somebody tries to tie med mal reform into the deal. Then the trial lawyers can have their Dem politicians reject the deal and they can have their attendant astroturfers. Would that make you more happy?
Well I am not a trial lawyer in the pi sense, but I certainly identify with them. I suppose you identify with the big defense lawyers who defend the tortfeasors, belittle asbestos victims and worker's comp claimants, the discriminartors, polluters etc. To each his own. To quote the old labor song: "Which side are you on, boy" "Which side are you on"
I suppose in your world, companies do not deserve a defense when they are sued. I believe that everybody deserves a defense. If that is belittling the little guy, so damned well be it. A system in which a party to a lawsuit is not entitled to a defense is one I would rather not live in. Your argument about defense lawyers is akin to people ripping on criminal defense lawyers "because we know they are all guilty." It is the same presumptuous crap.
