Thanks for saying what I've been thinking, Jeff. Careful, they'll pigeon-hole you as one of the monolithic, dreaded Left. Whatever THAT is.

    God forbid.

Well, I'm not saying thre aren't fascist on the right, there are. But there were certainly a lot of people through the 60's and 70's sympathetic to communism and socialism, and it isn't completely weeded out. I mean there were racists on the right back in the 50's and 60's weren't there. (Yes, and Trent Lott).

    Achebe,

I thought I put one of these --> :) in my last post, like I did the other ones. I wasn't really trying to attack you, but it's nice to know what you think of me.

One more thing, when did I ever say I have a problem with science? Just because I look at history and see theory after theory overturned by new data, and also believe that some of what we're now told is the truth won't bear the test of time, doesn't mean I don't approve of science. I'm sorry if that makes you think I'm a moron and a dork. I get the feeling your response comes from more than my short post, however.

Traj, I'm a dork. I'm sorry that I was such an idiot in that post (and all of my other posts). I don't aspire to be a complete *******... I shoot for funny-caustic remarks from time to time, and then I just accidentally turn into some evil schmo.

    I apologize.

Bad example... Clinton was notorious for rewriting and adding or deleting stuff up until the last moment and the general consensus in the WH was that he was the best writer. There was also that State of the Union where the wrong speech was loaded in the teleprompter and he had to wing it. Nobody knew until after the speech.
