think about it. the tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10AM if they did via regular mail how in hell would we get it in time?
Has anyone gotten the world series ticket email? i hear we are suppose to get an email regardless if we get it or not, telling you if you got it or not. well i havent heard anything and i was wondering if anyone gotten the email yet...
In the lottery (at least how it was last year), you get a personal password. Once you buy your tickets with it, it expires so you can't get more. So I don't think you're going to get his password.
haha ... no I know that ... that is why i put a "" next to it. Actually I'd feel really bad if it was posted because he thought I was serious.
I understand that there's a lot of people wanting these tickets and that's why the lottery system was made... so that everyone has a fair chance of getting tickets to the big games!... But going to ebay and searching for world series astros tickets made me kind of sick. It started making me wonder just how many people have an x amount of e-mail accounts just to win the lottery so they can sell it for thousands of dollars for 2 tickets? Someone actually put down an initial bidding of $10,000 for a set of 4. I'm not really upset over not getting a chance to go, but so many Astros fans here in this board, only to see people trying to make 10-20 times their price THE NIGHT THAT THE TICKETS WERE SOLD! To me, it just felt like the fans are cheated from this more than anyone else. Believe me, people will pay those prices just to go, but there must be a better way to do this lottery thing than to sign up through e-mails.
ummm...i'm pretty sure those are season tix holders or scalpers with a bunch of season tix selling their tickets. The tickets that you win in the lottery are probably left over after all the season ticket holders are helped.
Actually, I was thinking about that after I posted it. My mistake on that part. It just also occurred to me that the people who won the lottery couldn't get their tickets until tomorrow, so yeah, season ticket holders. So that many scalpers owning season tickets, huh? I oughta talk to my company about the upcoming Rockets season At any rate, 3000 - 10000 for 2-4 tickets is a little over the edge. I guess as long as people are willing to pay for it, you can't blame them for trying to squeeze out the very last cent for those tickets.
Well your only other hope is www.ticketreserve.com Their system works like ebay. You bid for the right to buy world series tickets. I think tickets for the first game at MMP are going for 250 bucks for the right to buy some tickets at face value and that price is going up every day. Although some people may sell some rights for cheaper prices. (250 is the buy it now price) I bought the right to a couple of weeks ago for 15 bucks a ticket. Anyway, that might be cheaper than scalpers but i have no idea.
3-5K seems way too high for World Series tickets. Once the game days roll around, I bet you can get some seats for cheaper than that. How many seats does MMP have? About 40K? 40,000 X 3 Games in Houston = 120,000 available seats. There is just more supply than in a Super Bowl or NBA finals or something like that. Shop around if you really want tickets. I've also heard you can get tickets game day for cheaper as scalpers rush to get rid of their supply.
I'm just going to host some WS viewing parties somewhere if I can't find my way to tickets. I already got people coming down from Austin and other places to go watch together that week. The home games are Tues Wed and Thursday.. so that kinda sucks. At any rate, GO ASTROS! and I'll worry about tickets later.
