Well, back from the game... boy was that a lot of fun... :(

We had a few chances to score some runs as always, but Lidge just plain blew it and Qualls gave up a run too. *sigh* Time to drink!

would you rather he have said that he's scared to pitch in the next 2 games?

He was just dominant before of this, so he talk because he was confident.

Yea, I love how if it weren't for Brad Lidge we would be the freaking Cincinnati Reds right now, and he has one bad outing and some folks want to crucify him.

Are the Astros better without Everett? There record says yes. After he broke his wrist last year, they started their magical run. This year when he missed the Brewers series, we swept them. Also I don't trust Chad Qualls. He has a good ERA but he seems to struggle a lot with his control and he hangs to many pitches. He also stuggles under pressure.

Why does every where I read it says we have Everett "because of his D??" I mean he's decent but nuthing special that stands out. With his offense I say BRING BACK LUGO!!!!!!!

I would take back Lugo for Everett anyday.

His errors cost us both games

hmm calmed down a bit.... some random thoughts...

our bullpen cost us this game

    no one else lol

granted our offense didn't exactly kick it into high gear against zambrano, the 2 run bomb by berkman should have been enough.

everett's throw wasn't clutch, but lidge certainly wasn't either

a one game playoff in philly, assuming we win even one of the next two games, doesn't bode well for us.

Clemens leads the Astros to a win tomorrow and the Phillies lose. Everyone goes home happy.

We all saw a "burp" in Wheeler's and Lidge's play this year. And they have both been ROCK SOLID at times.

IMO, when one starts to "burp", the other needs to come in and take up the slack.

If we have that combination of a closer, we'd be unstoppable in the latter innings.

Or am I just an idiot?

well I'm really worried now. People are jinxing the team, everywhere I hear on the news and radio talking about clinching and what the rotation is for the playoffs. Can they just shut up until it actually happens! It is hard for us just at is for the Phillies, I don't think they can sweep the Nats. However, we still at least have to get one.

well, a quarter of a keg later. I've had time to complain and soak in the loss. Damn I hate the cubs. We are so winning the next 2. Which really doesn't;e matter,. the 2nd win that is. Tomowow, or later today....the stros are going to win and the phils are going to lose. So we clinch.

Stros all the way bayb!!!! sad night tonight. But it doens't matter . everything they are doing is in vien. WE are the WC champs.

OK. After the two-game Cardinal series I thought we were ready for the playoffs, but we've hit one of those streaks where there is no margin for error... and we're not delivering. Sometimes they pull out after a couple games. But if they don't pull out quick, there's only two more games in this season.
Worst of all, last night I had to sit through the last two innings next to a table with Phillies fans that were rubbing it in. I hate Phillies fans almost as bad as I do Cubs fans.
We got to pull this out or it'll rank right up there with the Brewers fold job a few years back. I mean, two game lead, at home, all three of your studs on the mound... what the hell else could we want?
    This could be depressing...

That's the mentality you want your closer to have. Did you see Philly leave Billy Wagner on the bench after he gave up Biggio's homer in the last game of the series in Philadelphia? No. Did you see the Yankees get hestitant when Rivera had his early struggles? No. With the exception of Gange's perfect season a couple of ears ago, every closer has one bad game. It's just magnified with Lidge because it was in the last couple of days in the season.

Ok, I am done sulking... We have two games left, with Roger and Roy going. The Astros WILL pull this thing out. btw, I cant stand cub fans. After the game last night the wife and I are walking to the car and these cub fans started yelling "go cubs, go cubs! the astros arent going to make the playoffs" and much to my surprise the wife yells back "too bad that only you guys know what that is like, they call your team the lovable LOSERS!" seriously, what is wrong with them? We have to pull this thing out.

    I BELIEVE!!!

Adam Everett got demoted to the 8th hole tonight. Garner finally realizes he sucks on offense.

    God I hate Local tv.

CS local channels suck! They look and sound like crap. The FOX station has a humm in the background right now. Damnit! it's loud and annoying.
