as was dave burba, the God of pitching apparently.

and could we get one of them homer things there? you know, instead of singling them to death as we load the bases then groundout, just one big bang from bags, kent, berkman, hidalgo? or is their lineup just superior to ours with big wes helms and his 23 homers.

this is pathetic. The astros have straight up choked. I hate throwing around that word but this team has certainly earned the right to be called it. The team looks like garbage. Do they even care if they make the playoffs? sure doesn't look like it by the way they are playing. I just can't take this anymore, Drayton needs to spend the money and build a real winner instead of constantly relying on the farm.

ONLY the Cubs market is being shown the Cubs game.

The rest of the country is being shown the Astros game.

The rest of the country cares more about the Cubs...

thank god the pitching has completely fallen apart and the hitting can't buy a clutch hit. beautiful.

about the only good to be taken from today is that prior is on my fantasy team.

    Nick.

I understand that. I know that we are the national game. They can still control what we view on a regional basis regardless.

They do it all the time with their NFL broadcasts. :)

Nice to see Berkman get a hit finally.

This game's over, and the Cubs will sweep the doubleheader. Thus the Cubs clinch the division today. The Astros simply do not have what it takes to win the big games. What a heartless team. Part of the blame lies on Jimy, part of it on the starting pitching (except Oswalt), part of it on Biggio, part of it on Bagwell, and the rest interspersed among Kent, Berkman and Hidalgo. The best thing to come out of this season was the impressive play of young players like Everett and Ensberg. Congratulations Cubs, you are the 2003 NL Central champs. Even though whoever you meet in the first round (probably Atlanta) will pound you into oblivion.

Hopefully the Texans will win tomorrow, and the Rockets make the playoffs in the upcoming season.

ensberg so isn't the man after his pathetic GIDP's yesterday to stop virtually all the momentum we had as we were coming back. solo shots down 4 don't mean **** since we aren't gonna score anymore anyway.

    10 hits 2 runs.

Hell I think the Astros outhit Milwaukee last night too.

The batting order should of been changed when the Stro's left over 20 something runners on base in that extra ininng game in St. Louis.

They were doomed when the owner, manager, coach, or whoever decided to keep the roof closed on the most beautiful day of the year. That killed team morale right there.
