it seems the astros have left more men on base this year than any other team in history. C'mon Biggio!
you know what I bet when they go to the split screen in Chicago they don't make the Houston game screen bigger than Chicago's.
The Cubs game would be on right now (rather than the Astros game) if they hadn't already exceeded the maximum times they could have shown them throughout the year. This is their way of "getting around" their own rules.
This is frickin ridiculous. I just emailed Fox a nasty message. I encourage yall to do the same. http://www.foxsports.com/content/view?contentId=184411
I just told them than as an Astros fan, IN HOUSTON, I don't appreciate having the Cubs game taking up the larger part of my screen nor do I appreciate being forced to listen to their game and not ours. At the end, I told them they have no frickin clue how to produce a baseball game.
Once again... before you get all crazy folks... Today's game against the Brewers was originally NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ON TV. FOX planned on showing the Cubs game... but then realized they'd already exceeded the maximum times they could show them, thus they decided to pick up the Astros game. Also, factor in the fact that the Cubs game was "supposed" to be at 3pm, but since the rainout occured, its become a noon game. Since most of the country cares more about the Cubs than the Stros, their reasoning is pretty valid... even if it is short-changing Houston. At least they're using some sort of split screen, rather than cutting away to the Cubs game all-together.
Nick, You are not entirely correct. This is also considered a regional broadcast (i.e. the Cubs market is being shown the Cubs game and our market is being shown the Astros game). That means that the network is perfectly capable of making sure that in our market, the primary focus is being put on the Astros.
nah, i'm thinking '99 stros have that one. the year after 98, when we were great on offense, was just classic w/ all the gidp w/ the bases loaded we would rack up. this year hasn't seemed as bad, but we have continued our tradition as the worst bases loaded hitting team in the history of mankind. we could not possibly get less out of more. biggio's career average w/ the bases loaded i believe i just saw is .230! that is the worst i have ever seen when they show that stat. in fact, i don't ever remember seeing someone under .300 that i can think of. we are just pathetic when we load the bases. at least the cubs got two runs out of it even if they didn't get hits.
HR Helms, 3-1 Brewers. What a gutless effort. Apparently Obermueller and is era of 5.23 is just too much for us to handle.
