While these kind of moves have paid off in prospect depth and rankings, they have not yet produced a major leaguer yet. Obviously that time will come but interesting that he says "it has paid off". Maybe for a prospect centric person but my hopes are that all of these 17-19 year olds the Astros have plucked from the teens of other teams prospect lists as afterthoughts/players to be named will pay off in due time and we can all rejoice with "we got this guy for who now? Feldman? Veras? Cosart? Fields? etc. I like how he handles assets and plays the market. Hopefully we make some noise down the stretch with what we have but I do expect some interesting moves this winter to make our team a little more complete. It is a shame Kuechel is not the ace he was last year. We can not get very far without a true ace pitcher. McCullers can get there but that is a lot to ask for such a young pitcher. If our bullpen gets back to it lights out ways earlier this year and Hinch is able to pull guys a little early we could be a top pitching staff from top to bottom.
"He joins a young Houston rotation that includes Jarred Cosart and Brett Oberholtzer." Man, we've come a long way....
