Seriously, what the hell is so great about Iglesias? His drop in K/9, spike in FIP, and, most importantly, his ballooning HR/9 are all very concerning. No thanks. Realmuto (maybe throw in Conley and/or Barraclough), Hand, and also Treinen (if OAK is willing) are all guys I'd really love to have, and Alvarez definitely needs to be the centerpiece in such deals. I think he's pretty expendable given the OF depth we have. Organization doesn't seem to see him as a 1B given him playing almost exclusively in the OF.
Iglesias is far more level headed then speed bag Giles. Js. I think Giles would be great some where else he just cant handle the pressure in houston anymore.
I wonder if you could headline a deal around Brad Peacock and Yordan Alveraz to get Realmuto? I'm sure you would need to add a couple low levels but it might not be a bad idea
Sorry for apparently offending your sensibilities. This thread serves its purpose by providing good thought exercise. Some of these ideas... just aren't good. That's it.
12-12 in save opportunities with 0 runs given up and only 7 baserunners. Best save percentage in the AL since the start of the 2017 season.
So the question is. J.T. Realmuto and Kyle Barraclough to the Astros For Brad Peacock, Yordan Alveraz, J.B. Bukouskas, David Paulino, J.D.Davis and A.J. Reed Would you bite? I would say yes for the fact of we are opening a spot on the roster on the roster with out dropping anyone. We also move some players whom are blocked. The hurt is Peacock and Alveraz but we get long term solutions at C and Bullpen
If they trade Realmuto they are in full blow up mode. No need for Peacock. They might take Stassi instead, since he is still a young catcher with some potential. I want Realmuto badly, but really don't want to give up our future 1st baseman, dh, emergency outfielder who looks to be a complete stud.
We aren't moving Alvarez...so for those infatuated with Realmuto, here is the best I could see us offering Bukauskas, Paulino, Davis, and another 10-20 type (armenteros, deetz). I'm sure we would add Reed to it if that did anything for Miami Now if i'm Miami not sure if I do that or not, but if they want Alvarez i'm pretty sure it's a non starter. Let's not forget we could have had Sale but they insisted on Tucker/Martes and Luhnow wasn't budging. I love Realmuto, but if you don't budge on your top guys for Sale, you don't do it for Realmuto either
I don't think that gets it done, but if you could add Fisher, Reed, Martes. That amount of potential might. I'm just dreaming, but think of this lineup: Springer Bregman Altuve Correa Gurriel Tucker Gattis Realmuto Reddick Gonzalez, Kemp, McCann on the bench. Maybe split up the LH's a little differently. Doesn't matter, no rest for any opposing pitcher, ever!
Love this lineup, but wouldn't trade Alvarez to make it happen. My proposal would look something Bukauskas Davis Reed Armenteros Paulino Dawson For Realmuto and Barraclough, I would consider this trade for just Realmuto but think that's it's just too much to get a deal done for Realmuto alone. Prospects 3. 5. 7. 8. 20. Plus Reed.
As much as CF posters like to complain about Keuchel, Archer has not been a better pitcher than Dallas this year nor last
