I don't want any more infielders. We got infielders out the wazzoo now. With Paredes and the prospect and Dezenzo and Matthews being our #1 prospect. They need an outfielder in the worst way. There is not a single starting caliber player at any of the tree outfield spots that you would want starting a game 7 of a world series. I don't count Yordan because he need to be the dh. Maybe Meyers for his defensive ability if right and left field are improved. But right now it looks so bad out there. It looked bad enough when Tucker was still penciled in. Right now, we likely have the worst outfield in major league baseball or one of.
Hurts to see one of the best players in baseball go, but would’ve been worse to lose him next year for nothing. Overall I think the return is good if Parades is a top 10 third baseman for 3 years, they’ve become really hard to come by. The pitcher is a wild card, but quality arms who the Astros like are always nice. I think Cam Smith was the biggest piece in the trade, if he’s all star level the Astros have a better chance of extending the window.
Considering most infielders can play the OF... heck Bregman and Yuli were tried out at LF when they came up and could do it. And heck Dubon is on the roster. Natural infielders tend to be more versatile except 1B.
This is my thought as well. It’s really not the end of the world to let players walk in FA. Having Tucker on the team increases the chances of winning this year.
Everyone saying Paredes will be great because of the Crawford boxes. I hope so. But I am wary of assuming any hitter will find success at MMP after seeing how dismal the offense is at home the last 7 years or so.
The Astros from 2018 thru the 2024 at home offensive ranks in MLB are listed below: Runs - 6th Avg - 3rd HR - 8th OPS - 5th wRC+ - 2nd You might want to correct your statement.
You are an idiot then since you don't know the definition of dismal or refuse to acknowledge you were talking out of your ass.
They need to dump Dubon. Maybe they can also trade Brown for a couple of good prospects. Do a full tear down.
